Infatti la presenza dei piccioni nel centro storico ha assunto proporzioni tali da costituire un serio rischio di natura igienico-sanitaria per il possibile pericolo di trasmissione all’uomo di malattie infettive e parassitari, per il degrado dei monumenti nonché gravi problemi di decoro urbano. Con ordinanza sindacale numero 183 del 29 luglio 2022, è fatto espresso divieto per i cittadini di alimentare i piccioni presenti allo stato libero nel centro abitato ed è proibito gettare sul suolo pubblico granaglie, scarti ed avanzi alimentari. “Si è reso necessario disporre queste misure straordinarie che si rivolgono a tutti i cittadini – precisa l’amministrazione comunale – in quanto si è diffusa quest’abitudine di distribuire cibo ai piccioni, di fatto in contrasto con l’equilibrio dell’ecosistema urbano e la vivibilità della città in modo innaturale, contribuendo così ad aggravare un fenomeno che reca seri danni alla collettività e al decoro urbano”. Le violazioni ai contenuti di questa ordinanza sono soggette ad una sanzione amministrativa pecuniaria che va da un minimo di 75 euro ad un massimo di 500 euro. Si ricorda, inoltre che è in vigore il Regolamento d’Igiene del Comune di Città di Castello, norme integrative, dove all’art. 4 si stabilisce il divieto di alimentazione dei piccioni e soprattutto le indicazioni delle misure idonee al loro contenimento in ambito urbano.
