La Provincia di Arezzo ha attivato un nuovo servizio di supporto alle attività di repressione degli incendi boschivi mettendo a disposizione un camion fuoristrada dotato di una botte da 3.000 litri in grado di rifornire di acqua i mezzi che operano sugli incendi. L’attività è concertata con il Sistema Regionale AIB di livello provinciale ed attivata su loro richiesta.
La Presidente della Provincia, Silvia Chiassai Marini, afferma che è ormai sempre più evidente la tendenza climatica ad avere periodi estivi estremamente siccitosi e con temperature al di sopra della norma per lunghi periodi, con un conseguente allarmante aumento degli incendi boschivi di notevoli dimensioni. Sempre più spesso gli incendi boschivi lambiscono o colpiscono anche le abitazioni e le attività produttive, con danni e disagi per la popolazione.
E’ per questo motivo che è stato attivato per il periodo estivo, durante il quale si concentra il maggior numero di incendi boschivi, un mezzo speciale per supportare le attività del personale del volontariato e degli Enti locali che operano sugli incendi boschivi.
La procedura è stata definita tenendo conto delle norme vigenti che non assegnano alla Provincia incarichi diretti nella lotta attiva agli incendi. Pertanto, anche grazie alla collaborazione instaurata con il Centro Operativo Antincendi Boschivi provinciale, ubicato presso l’Unione dei Comuni del Pratomagno, è stata individuata l’attività collaterale del rifornimento di acqua ai mezzi AIB nelle immediate vicinanze al luogo dell’evento in modo da ridurre i tempi nelle procedure di rifornimento dei mezzi e, conseguentemente, l’aumento dell’efficienza nella lotta agli incendi di questa natura. Il mezzo sarà in grado di riempire anche le vasche mobili attrezzate per il rifornimento di acqua utilizzati per gli sganci dall’elicottero.
Silvia Chiassai Martini insieme al Vicepresidente Nicola Carini, che ha coordinato le attività preparatorie del progetto, vogliono ringraziare pubblicamente il personale dell’Ente ed in particolare quello del Servizio Viabilità che ha messo a disposizione il mezzo e gli autisti, dell’Autoparco provinciale che ne garantisce la manutenzione e l’efficienza e della Protezione Civile per il suo ruolo di attivazione e coordinamento delle attività. Il loro impegno assicurerà lo svolgimento delle attività di supporto in maniera efficiente e professionale.
