Alcool, droghe e leggi inadeguate

I dati dell’Osservatorio nazionale alcol (Ona) dell’Istituto Superiore della Sanità, sono inequivocabili: quasi 8 milioni di italiani consumano alcol in quantità tale da esporre la propria salute a rischio (1)Dati che stridono con le politiche di prevenzione in merito. Politiche che di recente hanno avuto un’impennata di sottovalutazione del problema. Grazie a spinte ideologiche ed economiche corporative – governo in prima linea – negli ultimi mesi abbiamo assistito ad un’incentivazione dei consumi

Si pensi al vino, all’opposizione verso qualunque etichettatura che – come avviene per i tabacchi – avverta i consumatori dei pericoli per un consumo incontrollato ed eccessivo (2). Non solo ma si pensi anche alle recenti affermazioni di esponenti del governo verso un consumo che sarebbe salutare (3), confondendo la salute degli individui con quella delle casse dei produttori E si pensi anche alla politica del governo che, in materia di droghe illegali, si oppone a qualunque legalizzazione che, rispetto al mercato clandestino oggi fiorente e in crescita, e rispetto a consumi che comunque sono in crescita… darebbe una svolta di controlli e informazione, non più affidando la propria salute a spacciatori e trafficanti. Questi dati dell’Iss sono occasione per riflettere e rimettere in discussione le politiche seguite fino ad oggi. Sicuramente inadeguate e non all’altezza di mercati (quello legale degli alcolici e quello illegale delle altre droghe) che hanno a cuore quasi esclusivamente i profitti dei venditori che non la salute dei consumatori.
Una cosa al momento è certa: le politiche in corso sono inadeguate
