Quest’ultimo è il più urgente, Kim gli ha dedicato un’ampia parte del suo lungo discorso: «A causa delle mosse sconsiderate dei nemici per invaderci, è un fatto compiuto che una guerra possa scoppiare in qualsiasi momento nella penisola coreana», ha detto il leader nordcoreano secondo quanto riferisce la Kcna, l’agenzia di stampa statale. Per questo, in caso di un attacco, l’esercito deve prepararsi a «riappacificare l’intero territorio della Corea del Sud», anche ricorrendo alle armi nucleari. «La situazione attuale ci obbliga ad accelerare il lavoro per raggiungere capacità di risposta bellica e prontezza strategica per sopprimere qualsiasi tipo di provocazione nemica». Kim ha accusato direttamente gli Stati Uniti per il supporto militare fornito alla Corea del Sud, che comprende anche l’invio di un sottomarino nucleare in una base navale sudcoreana e il dispiegamento di portaerei. Di conseguenza, ha detto il dittatore, «la Corea del Sud non è altro che una base militare e un arsenale atomico» a disposizione degli Stati Uniti. E dunque Pyongyang non ha altra scelta che avanzare nello sviluppo delle proprie armi nucleari e rafforzare le relazioni con Russia e Cina, perché «se prestiamo attenzione alle azioni militari delle forze nemiche, la parola “guerra” è diventata una possibilità reale e non più un concetto astratto». Le relazioni tra le due Coree, ha proseguito Kim, «sono ridotte a un rapporto tra due Paesi nemici, tra due belligeranti in guerra», ripetendo che Seul è ormai una «colonia» di Washington. «Il nostro partito è giunto alla conclusione che non sarà mai possibile raggiungere l’unificazione con la Repubblica di Corea». Giovedì l’intelligence sudcoreana ha lanciato l’allarme in vista del 2024: in aprile il Paese andrà al voto per rinnovare il parlamento ed «esiste un’alta possibilità che la Corea del Nord conduca provocazioni militari improvvise o attacchi cibernetici». Oggi è arrivata la reazione alle parole di Kim: «Se la Corea del Nord tenterà di usare armi nucleari contro di noi, ci vendicheremo in modo schiacciante e il regime di Kim Jong-Un affronterà la sua fine», ha affermato il ministero della Difesa in una nota. Mentre il ministero dell’Unificazione di Seul ha diffuso un comunicato in cui si legge che «ulteriori provocazioni nordcoreane sono sempre possibili, anche in vista delle elezioni presidenziali americane». Kim ha ricordato che quest’anno l’esercito nordcoreano ha lanciato più di 100 missili balistici, molti dei quali in grado di trasportare armi nucleari e con portata tale da colpire sia la Corea del Sud che qualsiasi punto del territorio statunitense. Inoltre, da novembre è in orbita — dopo due lanci falliti — il primo satellite spia di Pyongyang. Ancora non sono state diffuse immagini raccolte dal satellite, dettaglio che secondo molti esporti dimostra l’incapacità del velivolo spaziale di scattare foto a buona risoluzione. Ma Vladimir Putin ha già promesso a Kim che aiuterà la Corea del Nord a costruire i nuovi satelliti, probabilmente in cambio di pezzi d’artiglieria e munizioni che, secondo Washington, il dittatore sta inviando a Mosca.
