Questa mattina, Giacomo Brunetti, 50 anni compiuti lo scorso 1 dicembre, maestro chef e titolare di un noto ristorante del centro storico, ha consegnato il ricavato dell’iniziativa benefica, una cifra ragguardevole, alla Presidente della storica struttura socio-sanitaria, Annalisa Lelli alla presenza del sindaco Luca Secondi e l’assessore alle Politiche Sociale, Benedetta Calagreti. Festa di auguri “solidale”.

Muzi Betti, azienda pubblica servizi alla persona di Città di Castello. Gli oltre 140 invitati alla festa non si sono tirati indietro ed hanno accettato di buon grado la inedita proposta. Questa mattina, Giacomo Brunetti, 50 anni compiuti lo scorso 1 dicembre, maestro chef e titolare di un noto ristorante del centro storico, visibilmente soddisfatto e commosso, ha consegnato il ricavato dell’iniziativa benefica, una cifra ragguardevole, alla Presidente della storica struttura socio-sanitaria, Annalisa Lelli affiancata dai membri del consiglio di amministrazione, alla presenza tra gli altri anche del sindaco, Luca Secondi e dell’assessore alle Politiche Sociali, Benedetta Calagreti. Una breve ma significativa cerimonia per ringraziare chi ha deciso di festeggiare un primo traguardo di vita importante rinunciando ai regali per dare un segnale concreto di solidarietà nei confronti di anziani e ospiti della struttura. “Un bellissimo gesto, davvero commovente che ci dà la forza ed il sostegno anche morale di andare avanti ogni giorno nel far funzionare al meglio la nostra struttura sempre per il bene e la salute dei nostri ospiti ad ogni livello. Il contributo economico che oggi Giacomo con grande slancio umano e affettivo ci ha consegnato verrà utilizzato per il potenziamento sanitario e tecnologico della struttura sempre più al passo con le nuove esigenze che emergono ogni giorno. Grazie, oggi è davvero una giornata speciale”, ha concluso la Presidente Lelli. Anche il sindaco, Luca Secondi e l’assessore alle Politiche Sociali, Benedetta Calagreti, nel sottolineare l’umanità e la bontà d’animo che sta dietro ad una iniziativa destinata a fare scuola hanno ringraziato lo chef Brunetti a nome della comunità tifernate: “Muzi Betti è un’istituzione della città, un luogo con cui tante persone prima o dopo hanno avuto a che fare.” Un bellissimo gesto spontaneo come tanti altri di questo genere messi in atto da Giacomo Brunetti, che a 18 anni ha iniziato la brillante carriera in cucina fra pentole e fornelli, con il “mitico” Primetto Barelli, a Città di Castello nel locale scavato accanto alle mura urbiche al Giardino del Cassero e poi una esperienza di qualche anno a York in Inghilterra ed il ritorno in Italia in Toscana ad Anghiari, ancora con la famiglia Barelli al Castello di Sorci dove spesso, a Natale, Capodanno e Pasqua, Giacomo, ha cucinato i piatti della tradizione, tagliatelle e cappelletti su tutti per la “divina” Monica Bellucci, di casa da quelle parti. Dal 2016 infine ha deciso di gestire un ristorante tutto suo in centro storico a Città di Castello all’ombra del campanile cilindrico meta di turisti ed cultori della cucina locale rivisitata sempre con prodotti a chilometro zero, eccellenze del territorio come il coniglio ricoperto di prelibato tartufo bianco e patate arrosto che ha conquistato ancora il palato di Monica Bellucci, la scorsa vigilia dell’epifania, presente con familiari ed amici dallo chef prediletto nel corso di un breve soggiorno in altotevere. Maestro chef dal cuore grande, Giacomo Brunetti è stato protagonista alla fine del 2020, in piena emergenza Covid, di una bella iniziativa di solidarietà nei confronti di tre colleghi ristoratori, con i propri locali chiusi, che per qualche settimana ha ospitato nella sua cucina dividendo i pochi utili ma dimostrando che l’unione fa la forza. E così è stato infine anche in occasione della organizzazione della cena solidale, “Progetto Lamby”, in memoria di Lamberto Lucaccioni, portato avanti con ammirevole forza e determinazione dai genitori Donatella e Livio, il cui ricavato è andato per sostenere la missione di Kisibere in Ruanda e le attività delle suore in favore dei bambini, come la realizzazione di una piccola casa. “Un piccolo gesto nei confronti di una struttura simbolo come la Muzi Betti che viene dal profondo del cuore che ho condiviso con tutti coloro, che mi vogliono bene e che hanno accolto LA SCHEDA – A.S.P. Muzi Betti Nel 1826 monsignor Giovanni Muzi, vescovo di Città di Castello, fondò l’Istituto di carità della Fraternita, così chiamato dalla denominazione del locale che fu donato quale sede dagli Ospedali uniti di Santa Maria della misericordia e di San Florido di Città di Castello. L’ente aveva per scopo il ricovero e il mantenimento di fanciulli abbandonati e di vecchi inabili. Successivamente l’opera pia fu dotata di più largo patrimonio con la fusione e trasformazione di altri istituti di beneficenza e, in particolare, grazie al lascito dei fratelli Giovanni Antonio e Ferdinando Betti, in forza del rescritto pontificio 13 marzo 1852. In base al regio decreto 14 gennaio 1864, l’Orfanotrofio, come altre opere pie locali, fu sottoposto all’amministrazione della Congregazione di carità di Città di Castello, che durò fino al 1937; in quell’anno passò in gestione all’Ente comunale di assistenza di Città di Castello.
Nel 1939, con il Ricovero di mendicità e l’Ospizio cronici, fu decentrato all’ente Opere pie riunite di Città di Castello.
E’ stato ufficialmente soppresso nel 2005 quando, con deliberazione n. 120 del 23 settembre 2005, il consiglio di amministrazione delle Opere pie riunite ne dispose la fusione con le altre due opere pie, al fine di costituire un nuovo ente. Con determinazione dirigenziale della Giunta regionale della Regione Umbria del 18 novembre 2005, tale fusione fu ratificata con la contestuale soppressione delle Opere pie riunite di Città di Castello e la costituzione del nuovo ente Residenza protetta Opera pia Muzi Betti di Città di Castello. Oggi l’ A.S.P. Muzi Betti è una Azienda Pubblica di Servizi alla Persona, istituita ai sensi della legge regionale numero 25/2014, dotata di personalità giuridica di diritto pubblico, con autonomia statutaria, gestionale, contabile e finanziaria. L’azienda opera nel campo dei servizi alla persona e sua finalità primaria è la erogazione di servizi socio sanitari a persone anziane e adulte in condizioni di disagio, e/o di non autosufficienza, e/o disabilità. E’ inserita nel sistema regionale di interventi e servizi sociali definito dalla L.R. 11/2015, con particolare riferimento alla parte II “servizi sociali” orientando la propria attività nel rispetto dei principi da questa indicati, a cui debbono obbligatoriamente attenersi anche le Cooperative Sociali di cui l’Azienda si avvale per l’espletamento delle proprie attività. L’ Azienda gestisce attualmente i seguenti servizi: residenza protetta e comunità alloggio.
