AREZZO – La genesi delle “Vite” nel nuovo incontro alla Biblioteca Città di Arezzo Francesca Chieli e Ingrid Rowland in dialogo per scoprire il processo che ha portato alla redazione del capolavoro indiscusso di Vasari, la presentazione sarà intervallata dalle letture di alcuni passi de “Le Vite” a cura di Alessandra Bedino. “Vasari: il collezionista delle vite dei grandi artisti”
: è questo il titolo dell’appuntamento di venerdì 7 giugno ore 18 presso la sala conferenze della Biblioteca Città di Arezzo (via dei Pileati, 8), dove Francesca Chieli, storica dell’arte e rettrice della Fraternita dei Laici di Arezzo, dialogherà con Ingrid Rowland italianista statunitense, professoressa presso la Facoltà di Storia dell’Università di Notre Dame e autrice del libro “Vasari: il collezionista delle vite dei grandi artisti” (Mondadori). Il testo, scritto insieme allo storico dell’arte Noah Charney, ripercorre il processo che portò alla redazione delle “Vite”, un’occasione per conoscere a fondo un libro avvincente e minuzioso, in cui verità e allegoria sono spesso mescolate. La presentazione sarà intervallata dalle letture di alcuni passi de “Le Vite” a cura di Alessandra Bedino. L’iniziativa rientra nell’ambito del progetto “Arezzo. La città di Vasari” che, da maggio 2024 a febbraio 2025, connetterà musei, biblioteche e archivi aretini per celebrare il pittore, architetto e storico dell’arte divenuto emblema del genio poliedrico tardo rinascimentale (ingresso gratuito, info su www.discoverarezzo.com e www.fondazioneguidodarezzo.com).
L’iniziativa fa parte della rassegna “Arezzo. La città di Vasari”, promossa e organizzata da Comune di Arezzo, Fondazione CR Firenze e Provincia di Arezzo con Fondazione Guido D’Arezzo – ente presieduto dal sindaco della città Alessandro Ghinelli e diretto da Lorenzo Cinatti a cui dal 2018 è affidata dal Comune di Arezzo la gestione delle attività e dei presidi culturali sul territorio – in collaborazione con Direzione regionale musei della Toscana del Ministero della Cultura, Gallerie degli Uffizi, con la curatela del comitato scientifico presieduto da Carlo Sisi nell’ambito delle celebrazioni per l’Anno Vasariano. Sono partner dell’iniziativa Archivio di Stato di Arezzo, Diocesi di Arezzo, Cortona e San Sepolcro, Biblioteca Città di Arezzo, Fraternita dei Laici di Arezzo, Fondazione Arezzo Intour.
