AREZZO – Venerdì 6 dicembre 2024, alle ore 21.15, il salone del Centro di aggregazione sociale di Villa Severi, adArezzo, ospita la presentazione di “Gli animali ci salvano”, libro biografico di Alberto Brandi (Minerva Edizioni). L’autore sarà intervistato dal giornalista culturale Marco Botti e dalla referente del Bookclub Villa Severi Daniela Fusai.

Sarà presente Maria Elena Bisconti di G.A.I.A. APS, che parlerà ai presenti dell’importanza della pet therapy. L’iniziativa è promossa da CAS Villa Severi APS. IL LIBRO Durante una degenza ospedaliera in cui si trova a lottare tra la vita e la morte, un veterinario ripensa a tutti gli animali che hanno attraversato la sua vita. Aggrappandosi al ricordo dei suoi tanti amici a quattro zampe e al loro amore, trova la forza di resistere senza mai perdere il sorriso e l’ironia, fino alla completa guarigione. La storia vera di Alberto Brandi, divenuto un caso mediatico durante il suo ricovero per polmonite da Covid-19 grazie all’ondata di attenzione e affetto ricevuta dal suo “diario di bordo” condiviso tramite social e redatto con irresistibile senso dell’umorismo. Il libro, scritto insieme all’autrice e regista per il cinema e la televisione Elena Giogli, si presenta come una serie di racconti di vita toccanti e al tempo stesso spassosi, ognuno dei quali ha come protagonista un animale speciale che ha incrociato la vita del protagonista. Ci sono cani, gatti, cavalli, tassi, cerbiatti, alpaca, cincillà, ma anche piccioni e pesciolini. Le prefazioni del volume sono curate da Lorenzo Jovanotti Cherubini e Andrea Scanzi, amici e clienti di vecchia data del veterinario, mentre a Giulia Pulerà sono affidate le belle illustrazioni. Su Brandi ha scritto un articolo Selvaggia Lucarelli per Il Fatto Quotidiano, presente con il titolo “Una storia bella” nell’appendice del libro.

BIOGRAFIA Alberto Brandi, medico veterinario, da più di trent’anni lavora a Castiglion Fiorentino (AR), dove gestisce il proprio ambulatorio e vive con la famiglia: la moglie Lucia, la figlia Sara e un numero in costante crescita di cani e gatti. È profondamente innamorato del suo lavoro e nel 2019 è stato premiato “aretino dell’anno” per il suo costante impegno in favore degli animali e in particolare per aver compiuto l’impresa titanica di far adottare più di 250 gattini abbandonati in un anno, anche grazie alla sua fama sui social.
