Nei giorni scorsi, il Comune di Sansepolcro ha effettuato gli interventi annuali di rimozione dei nidi di processionaria, affidati alla ditta IDC Disinfestazioni, per contrastare la diffusione di questo insetto altamente pericoloso per la salute degli animali, irritante per l’uomo e particolarmente dannoso per le piante, in particolare per i pini marittimi e neri.
Oltre alla rimozione manuale dei nidi, sono state installate delle trappole a collare intorno al fusto degli alberi infestati, con l’obiettivo di catturare le larve durante la loro discesa, impedendone la proliferazione e riducendo il rischio di nuove infestazioni nei prossimi mesi. L’intervento ha interessato diverse aree del territorio biturgense, con un’attenzione particolare alle zone più sensibili e frequentate, tra cui: Le aree verdi adiacenti l’ospedale, La zona Melello, L’area Cisa, Il cimitero urbano, I giardini delle scuole Centofiori, Collodi e della vecchia scuola elementare di Gricignano. L’Amministrazione Comunale continua a monitorare attentamente la situazione per garantire la sicurezza e la tutela del verde pubblico, invitando i cittadini a segnalare eventuali presenze di processionaria in altre aree del territorio.
