venerdì 9 maggio Ravenna, Teatro Alighieri, ore 21:00Ospite più atteso di questa cinquantaduesima edizione del festival Ravenna Jazz, il fisarmonicista francese Richard Galliano si esibirà venerdì 9 maggio al Teatro Alighieri (ore 21) con il suo New York Tango Trio, che vede la partecipazione di Adrien Moignard alla chitarra e Philippe Aerts al contrabbasso.
La carriera e la musica di Richard Galliano (Cannes, 1950) sono state profondamente segnate dall’incontro con Astor Piazzolla, avvenuto nel 1983 e sfociato in una profonda amicizia. Da allora Galliano ha suonato assieme a celeberrimi jazzisti: Chet Baker, Ron Carter, Joe Zawinul, Toots Thielemans, Wynton Marsalis, Charlie Haden, Gary Burton, Michel Portal, Biréli Lagrène, Stefano Bollani, Enrico Rava, Paolo Fresu, Jan Garbarek, Michel Petrucciani…, rendendo sempre pienamente riconoscibile il proprio stile, spiccatamente cantabile, introspettivo e dal contagioso lirismo. Galliano si è inoltre distinto per la versatilità espressiva, conquistandosi una fama altrettanto solida anche in ambito classico (è l’unico fisarmonicista sotto contratto con la Deutsche Grammophon) e nel campo della canzone francese (con Serge Reggiani, Claude Nougaro, Juliette Greco, Charles Aznavour, Serge Gainsbourg…), sconfinando anche in collaborazioni ‘esotiche’ con Bobby McFerrin e Gilberto Gil. Galliano è riuscito anche a emergere dal cono d’ombra proiettato dalla figura del grande Piazzolla, dimostrandosi musicista completo, autore di brani dal fascino irresistibile oltre che esecutore piazzolliano d’eccellenza. In ciò sono stati fondamentali i gruppi stabili ai quali ha dato vita, dal Tangaria Quartet al New York Tango Trio.
