STIA – CASENTINO – Aperte le iscrizioni, le performance dal vivo a Stia (Ar) nel cuore del Casentino dal 4 al 7 settembre 2025 Forgia a carbone, incudine, martello e la maestria dei fabbri: sono aperte le iscrizioni al XII campionato del mondo di forgiatura, quest’anno ispirato al tema “Miti e magie”. La competizione si terrà a Stia, in provincia di Arezzo, dal 4 al 7 settembre 2025, nell’ambito della XXVI edizione della Biennale Europea d’Arte Fabbrile https://biennaleartefabbrile.it
Si tratta dell’evento centrale della Biennale, manifestazione di respiro internazionale dedicata alla lavorazione artigianale e artistica del ferro battuto, promossa e organizzata dall’associazione autonoma per la Biennale di Arte Fabbrile Stia e dal Comune di Pratovecchio Stia. I fabbri arriveranno nel Casentino da tutto il mondo per sfidarsi, singolarmente o a squadre, e realizzare un’opera artistica in ferro, mettendo in mostra abilità, maestria e creatività. Ma l’evento è anche l’occasione per confrontarsi, affinare le tecniche di lavorazione, scambiare idee e buone pratiche. Quest’anno la Biennale fa parte del progetto europeo “Iron notes”, cofinanziato dall’Unione Europea nell’ambito del programma Europa Creativa, che coinvolge la Biennale e partner provenienti da Svezia, Finlandia, Norvegia e Estonia con eventi e azioni dedicate alla promozione dell’arte fabbrile. La Biennale non è solo forgiatura: a ogni edizione il programma si arricchisce con concorsi ed eventi collaterali: il filo conduttore delle attività collaterali del 2025 è il tema “Fantasy”, mentre il concorso internazionale di scultura è dedicato al tema “Magica-mente” con le opere vincitrici che resteranno a impreziosire l’arredo urbano del comune di Pratovecchio Stia. Torna anche il progetto Lanificio “Spazio vuoto_incubatore di idee”, che quest’anno darà spazio a complementi d’arredo e oggetti artistici per interni ed esterni, realizzati da artisti, artigiani, designer o semplici appassionati, in forma individuale o collettiva. I lavori selezionati saranno esposti durante la manifestazione.
Tra le competizioni in programma anche un concorso di progettazione e disegno e un concorso fotografico, per i quali i bandi verranno pubblicati a breve. Ogni due anni dal 1976 la Biennale del ferro di Stia, la più longeva mostra d’artigianato artistico del ferro forgiato a livello mondiale, trasforma le piazze e le strade di un delizioso borgo toscano in un laboratorio a cielo aperto. L’evento punta a promuovere l’antica tradizione di un mestiere fortemente radicata nel territorio e nella comunità locale proiettandola nel futuro, contribuendo alla costruzione di un nuovo immaginario intorno alla lavorazione del ferro, in linea con le evoluzioni e le esigenze della società contemporanea. Ma la Biennale è anche l’occasione per avvicinare e far conoscere a un pubblico sempre più ampio il valore del lavoro artigianale e del manufatto artistico in ferro. Dimostrazioni dal vivo, esposizioni di opere in ferro battuto, conferenze, mercatini, laboratori per bambini e spettacoli musicali: il ricco programma della manifestazione permette ai visitatori di osservare da vicino le tecniche di forgiatura e interagire con gli artigiani. La Biennale nacque da un’idea di Pier Luigi della Bordella e Ivan Bruschi, sostenuta dall’allora amministrazione comunale. Da quasi 50 anni apre le porte ai grandi maestri e ai giovani fabbri provenienti da tutto il mondo, celebrandone talento e maestria. Il logo della manifestazione è rappresentato proprio da un “Fabbro” disegno a sanguigna e carboncino nel 1976 dal pittore Pietro Annigoni, di origini milanesi ma fortemente legato a Stia, dove aveva una residenza. Qui, nei pressi della Pieve di Santa Maria Assunta, si può ammirare anche un suo affresco raffigurante San Francesco con gli uccelli insieme a tutte le opere in ferro battuto che negli anni sono state donate alla città e che è possibile ammirare con una passeggiata per il piccolo centro del borgo.:
