Il Medico di Medicina Generale ha ipotizzato la diagnosi, che ha segnalato il caso alla struttura UF Igiene Pubblica e della Nutrizione, poi confermata dalla UOC Malattie Infettive dell’Ospedale San Donato di Arezzo, in collaborazione con il laboratorio di sierologia e l’Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Senese. 
Che cos’è il West Nile VirusIl West Nile Virus è un’infezione trasmessa principalmente dalle punture di zanzare del genere Culex, che si infettano nutrendosi su uccelli selvatici, serbatoio naturale del virus.
