La scelta di ricordare tutte le personalit\u00e0 che si guadagnarono la beatificazione fu di\u00a0Papa Gregorio IV\u00a0, il quale\u00a0nel 835\u00a0scelse il 1\u00ba novembre come data per\u00a0ricordare i santi apostoli e tutti i santi, martiri\u00a0(ossia coloro che in passato morirono a causa della loro Fede cristiana) e\u00a0confessori.
