TRENT’ANNI DI NASTRO ROSA CONTRO IL TUMORE AL SENO


TOSCANA – In occasione dei 30 anni della “Breast Cancer Campaign”, la campagna contro il tumore al seno ideata da Evelyn H. Lauder, il Comitato Toscana di Fondazione AIRC si mobilita per sensibilizzare e raccogliere fondi per la ricerca contro il tumore al seno, con l’obiettivo di curare le donne colpite dalle forme più aggressive.

Sono molte le iniziative organizzate nel mese di ottobre dal Comitato Toscana di Fondazione
AIRC per sensibilizzare e raccogliere fondi per la ricerca contro il tumore al seno. L’occasione è la
trentesima edizione della “Breast Cancer Campaign”, la campagna globale contro il tumore al
seno ideata da Evelyn H. Lauder, simboleggiata dal nastro rosa e promossa da The Estée Lauder
Companies, di cui Fondazione AIRC è partner ufficiale in Italia. Madrina della campagna è
Roberta Capua.

Grazie ai progressi della ricerca per la diagnosi e la cura del cancro al seno, dal 1992 a oggi nel
nostro Paese la sopravvivenza a 5 anni dalla diagnosi è cresciuta dal 78 all’88%. Un progresso
che si traduce in decine di migliaia di vite salvate, perché il tumore al seno colpisce ogni anno solo
in Italia 55.000 donne, una su otto nell’arco della vita. Il 12% che ancora manca per salvare
tutte le pazienti è dovuto alle forme più aggressive, come il carcinoma mammario metastatico,
che riguarda circa 37.000 donne (fonte: Fonte: AIOM e AIRTUM. I numeri del cancro in Italia 2015
e 2021).

Il simbolo scelto da AIRC per rappresentare questa sfida è un nastro rosa diverso dagli altri
perché incompleto. Per essere colorato interamente richiede l’impegno di tutti: l’impegno delle
donne, che devono sottoporsi agli screening e agli esami di controllo raccomandati; l’impegno dei
ricercatori, al lavoro per mettere a punto nuove terapie; e l’impegno dei partner e dei sostenitori,
che hanno consentito ad AIRC di destinare solo nel 2022 15 milioni di euro a 161 progetti di
ricerca e borse di studio in quest’ambito.

LE INIZIATIVE IN REGIONE: PADEL, RUN FOR AIRC E SPILLETTE NASTRO ROSA

Dal1° di ottobre si illumina di rosa il Municipio di Forte dei Marmi per richiamare l’attenzione
dei cittadini sull’importanza del sostegno alla ricerca oncologica e della prevenzione.
ANCI, l’Associazione Nazionale Comuni Italiani, ha dato il patrocinio.

Atleti e appassionati di Padel sono pronti a scendere in campo in 28 circoli della Toscana per la
2° edizione del Torneo di Padel – Coppa AIRC. Un appuntamento che si sviluppa lungo il mese
di ottobre e che cresce coinvolgendo tutto il territorio regionale grazie alla preziosa
collaborazione con la FITPRA e al Patrocinio della Regione Toscana. Un’iniziativa all’insegna
dello sport, del divertimento e dell’impegno che vuole sensibilizzare sull’importanza di adottare
comportamenti salutari nel prevenire il rischio di cancro e insieme punta a raccogliere nuove

Sport protagonista del Nastro Rosa in Toscana anche con la quinta edizione della RUN FOR AIRC,
corsa/camminata non competitiva, della lunghezza di 4,5 o 9 chilometri, in programma per
domenica 16 ottobre con un percorso rinnovato che dal Pontile di Forte dei Marmi arriverà a
toccare il Comune di Pietrasanta con il passaggio all’interno del Parco della Versiliana. Visto il
successo degli anni scorsi resta la possibilità di partecipare in modalità virtual, correndo in

con il Nastro Rosa: indossandolo è possibile contribuire concretamente alla ricerca sul tumore al
seno – con una donazione minima di 2 euro – e dimostrare partecipazione e vicinanza alle donne
che ne sono colpite. All’iniziativa hanno aderito anche moltissime farmacie comunali e private. Per
