Sulla scia degli anni passati PoliedroCultura, in collaborazione con il Comune di Città di Castello, apre le porte della Rotonda Medievale alla cittadinanza e ai numerosi turisti curiosi di scoprire luoghi nascosti della città
La Rotonda medievale, infatti, è un piccolo gioiello del patrimonio storico artistico cittadino di proprietà comunale.La sua importanza nel passato è stata tale da dare il nome alla via nella quale sorge e addirittura Filippo Titi nella mappa della Città la cita in legenda.La struttura architettonica ricorda edifici templari francesi, infatti, la Rotonda era forse legata ai Templari che nella vicina Chiesa della Carità hanno lasciato le loro tracce con meravigliosi affreschi e anche all’ordine dei Cavalieri di Malta che erano presenti nella Commenda di Rignaldello. Sta di fatto che l’edificio, che un tempo sorgeva in aperta campagna, è molto suggestivo e misterioso adatto anche ad ospitare mostre.Le aperture di agosto continueranno anche nelle domeniche di Settembre e concluderanno con un evento combinando le varie arti insieme quindi visita guidata alla Rotonda e a tutto il percorso legato agli ordini cavallerischi in città tra musiche e danze.Le aperture straordinarie dell’estate sono un ottima opportunità per residenti e turisti per scoprire questo affascinante edificio, comunque la Rotonda è sempre visitabile anche su appuntamento contattandoci o presentandosi dal martedì alla domenica presso la biglietteria della Pinacoteca Comunale di CIttà di Castello. Quindi se siete curiosi di immergervi nel passato tra storia e architetture di altri tempi vi consigliamo di passarci a trovare!!
