“Vorremo sciogliere alcune perplessità, ora molto forti, sulla reale opportunità dell’intero progetto, che arriva con la promessa di riqualificare l’area e portare nuovi posti di lavoro, ma che potrebbe alterare irrimediabilmente il tessuto economico savinese”, prosegue Salvicchi. “Chiederemo al Comune se sono stati fatti studi e valutazioni precise sull’impatto che avrà la nuova struttura. Non vorremmo infatti che portasse alla chiusura di attività commerciali storiche e alla perdita di occupazione”, chiarisce il funzionario della Confcommercio interprovinciale di Firenze e Arezzo, “porteremo quindi le nostre osservazioni a Palazzo del Monte, come possono fare altri soggetti interessati entro il prossimo 30 settembre”. “Non siamo contrari al progetto a priori – chiarisce il direttore aggiunto dell’associazione di categoria Catiuscia Fei – ma ci dispiace constatare ancora una volta come l’unica progettualità considerata valida per la riqualificazione o la riconversione di aree abbandonate sia sempre legata al commerciale. Pare che le Amministrazioni non riescano a pensare ad usi alternativi, magari premiando nuove idee per incentivare i servizi sociali, sportivi e culturali a favore della comunità. E pensare che, in Italia e in Europa, il modello delle grandi aree distributive dislocate fuori città ha dimostrato tutti i suoi limiti e si sta cercando di correre ai ripari. Queste maxi-isole commerciali hanno drenato linfa vitale ai centri storici, svuotandoli di funzioni e di persone. In una realtà così piccola come quella di Monte San Savino, dove già l’equilibrio del centro storico e delle sue attività è molto delicato, dobbiamo evitare che questo accada. Ci rimetterebbe anche il turismo”.
