Per la Giornata internazionale della Donna, la Tela Umbra, il Comune di Città di Castello e la casa editrice tifernate LuoghInteriori presentano il saggio di Massimo Desideri Contessa Lara. La vita “inimitabile’ di una scrittrice di successo nell’Italia di fine Ottocento e il suo tragico femminicidio. L’iniziativa si svolgerà mercoledì 8 marzo alle ore 18 presso il Museo della Tela Umbra in Via Sant’Antonio.
A fare gli onori di casa il presidente di Tela Umbra Stefano Romolini. Interverranno inoltre l’Assessore alla Cultura del Comune di Città di Castello Michela Botteghi, l’editore Antonio Vella e l’editor di LuoghInteriori Alice Forasiepi. Stefano Romolini, presidente di Tela Umbra: «Siamo orgogliosi di presentare il libro di Massimo Desideri, perché ci sembra che un filo ideale unisca la vicenda di Alice Franchetti e quella di Contessa Lara: sono due esempi di donne eccezionali, che in una società italiana patriarcale e chiusa, sono riuscite ad aprire strade fino ad allora precluse alle donne». Antonio Vella, responsabile editoriale di LuoghInteriori, prosegue: «Quando con l’assessore Michela Botteghi pensavamo a qualcosa di significativo per celebrare la Giornata internazionale delle Donna, ho subito pensato di far conoscere ai tifernati la storia di Evelina Cattermole, meglio nota come Contessa Lara. E’ la storia straordinaria dei primi passi di emancipazione femminile per una giornalista di fine Ottocento vissuta all’epoca di Alice Hallgarten-Franchetti, conclusasi tragicamente con il suo femminicidio. E purtroppo la cronaca della nostra attualità ci fa capire che molto è stato fatto da un secolo a questa parte, ma molto ancora si deve fare per cambiare mentalità e cultura delle nuove generazioni.
