Il sindaco Casini: “Complimenti ai vincitori, ma trionfa la manifestazione e il nostro borgo” Nelle parole di Antonio Mazzeo, presidente del Consiglio regionale della Toscana e ospite d’onore della serata, quasi un presagio di quello che sarebbe successo poco dopo: “Lucignano stasera è ancora più bella, splende di una luce che non avevo mai visto”.
E proprio il carro “Illuminazione” del rione di “Via dell’amore” a notte fonda viene proclamato vincitore dell’edizione 2023 della Maggiolata lucignanese con l’assegnazione del “Grifo d’oro”. Al tripudio dei giallorossi si uniscono tutti gli altri, “a dimostrazione – sottolinea il sindaco Roberta Casini – che la nostra manifestazione unisce e non divide. Voglio fare i complimenti a chi ha vinto, a tutti i cantieri che hanno realizzato opere meravigliose, ma il ringraziamento va a tutti coloro che hanno lavorato per rendere speciale questa edizione della Maggiolata, facendo trionfare Lucignano”.E’ un successo collettivo, quello di un’intera comunità che alla fine emerge, tenuto conto del pubblico da record che ha caratterizzato ogni uscita dei carri. “Un forte segno identitario, un’intera comunità lavora per la buona riuscita della Maggiolata – ha osservato ancora Mazzeo – che richiama tanti turisti che vengono a scoprire arte, storia e bellezza di uno dei Borghi più belli d’Italia”. La serata conclusiva dell’84^ edizione, con l’atteso momento della tradizionale “battaglia dei fiori”, si era aperta con la parata dei gruppi storici e folcloristici alternati ai carri realizzati con decine di migliaia di garofani e fiori recisi sul tema “Scene del settecento”. Ecco che Porta San Giusto ha proposto “Montgolfier, l’aerostato che incantò Versailles”, Porta San Giovanni “James Cook, verso i confini del mondo”, Porta Murata il “Sotto… marino” e Via dell’Amore, a secco di vittorie dal lontano 2002, il carro vincitore “Illuminazione”. “Ricorderemo questa edizione anche per le prestigiose presenze istituzionali – ha detto ancora il sindaco Casini – in particolare il presidente Giani, il presidente Mazzeo, i consiglieri regionali e tanti altri che ci hanno sostenuto. Pensiamo fin da subito ai tanti appuntamenti dell’estate, al Festival dei Borghi più belli d’Italia di settembre e alla Maggiolata del 2024”.
