Visitare il centro storico di Città di Castello a piedi e in bicicletta: nuovo cantiere da 185 mila euro a ridosso delle mura urbiche per riqualificare l’area tra Viale Veneto e porta Santa Maria Maggiore e guidare all’accesso diretto dal parcheggio ex Sogema. Secondi e Carletti: “intervento in continuità con gli investimenti nella zona del Cassero: teniamo fede all’impegno di sviluppare la mobilità ciclopedonale con l’obiettivo di migliorare la qualità della vita cittadina e assicurare una più efficace fruibilità del nostro centro storico”
Consentire di visitare il centro storico a piedi e in bicicletta lungo l’intero anello delle mura urbiche cittadine, riqualificando un’area strategica e di pregio della città come quella tra viale Vittorio Veneto e porta Santa Maria Maggiore, e collegare il centro storico in maniera diretta al parcheggio da 250 posti dell’ex Sogema, anche nella prospettiva della realizzazione di piazza Burri. Sono gli obiettivi del cantiere da 185 mila euro che l’amministrazione comunale aprirà nelle prossime settimane, investendo 20 mila euro per cofinanziare le risorse da 150 mila euro ottenute dal PNRR e i 15 mila euro provenienti dal Fondo per l’avvio Opere Indifferibili dello Stato. In funzione della realizzazione di un nuovo percorso ciclopedonale delimitato, con l’intervento sarà completamente ridisegnato e riqualificato lo spazio urbano tra viale Vittorio Veneto e porta Santa Maria Maggiore che abbraccia il monumento alla Resistenza Altotiberina, mentre sarà tracciato visivamente e materialmente il percorso ciclopedonale di circa 400 metri già esistente tra il centro storico e il centro commerciale Le Fonti, che è impiantato nella viabilità della zona, ma non è percepito come collegamento da chi transita e sosta nel cuore di Città di Castello. “Con questo nuovo investimento teniamo fede all’impegno di sviluppare la mobilità ciclopedonale con l’obiettivo di migliorare la qualità della vita cittadina e assicurare una più efficace fruibilità del nostro centro storico”, dichiarano il sindaco Luca Secondi e l’assessore ai Lavori Pubblici Riccardo Carletti, che sottolineano come “l’intervento riqualificherà e migliorerà l’aspetto di un’area importante a ridosso delle mura urbiche cittadine, che diverrà più funzionale e piacevole, e ci permetterà di sfruttare le potenzialità del parcheggio seminterrato dell’ex Sogema, di cui abbiamo acquisito la disponibilità per la sosta libera, come punto di riferimento per l’accesso diretto al centro storico”. Nel ringraziare gli uffici comunali “che con impegno e professionalità hanno reso possibile finanziare con le importanti risorse ottenute dal PNRR investimenti strategici per il miglioramento della città e dei suoi servizi”, sindaco e assessore evidenziano come “il cantiere di viale Vittorio Veneto darà continuità dal punto di vista dello sviluppo della mobilità ciclopedonale attorno alle mura urbiche e del miglioramento della fruibilità e dell’accessibilità del centro storico a progetti strategici come quello della variante del Cassero, che è già partito con un investimento di 1 milione e 400 mila euro, e dell’ampliamento del parcheggio Raniero Collesi con la realizzazione dell’ascensore sul bastione del Cassero, al quale saranno destinati 600 mila euro”. “Lavori che l’amministrazione comunale ha dimostrato di volere fortemente, scegliendo sempre di cofinanziare gli interventi pur di renderne possibile la realizzazione”, puntualizzano Secondi e Carletti. Il cantiere che sarà aperto in viale Vittorio Veneto rappresenta il primo stralcio dell’investimento complessivo per sviluppare la mobilità dolce previsto lungo la direttrice stradale posta a ridosso delle mura urbiche. Nell’area sarà infatti realizzato il primo tratto del nuovo percorso ciclopedonale che dovrà riqualificare per intero l’attuale itinerario che affianca viale Veneto, in base a quanto previsto dal Programma di Sviluppo Urbano Sostenibile “Città di Castello Alto Tevere Smart: il motore dell’Umbria” di Agenda Urbana. L’attuale marciapiede nella zona d’angolo delle mura urbiche sarà sostituito da un camminamento con finitura in calcestruzzo architettonico, perimetrato con cordoli in pietra arenaria (analogo a quello lungo via Diaz), che ridisegnerà completamente l’area e sarà incorniciato da aree verdi che valorizzeranno le alberature presenti e il monumento alla Resistenza Altotiberina. Nascerà così una piazzetta che avrà la duplice funzione di costituire un punto di ristoro e di sottolineare la presenza del monumento alla Resistenza Altotiberina. Nell’area saranno installati nuovi corpi illuminanti, che garantiranno luce sia lungo il camminamento che sulle mura urbiche e il monumento presente, un impianto di irrigazione a servizio delle aiuole e una nuova segnaletica. In attuazione del Piano Urbano della Mobilità Sostenibile (P.U.M.S.), a distanza di alcune centinaia di metri, tra il centro storico e il centro commerciale Le Fonti, verrà definito il percorso ciclopedonale che servirà a collegare l’area di parcheggio ex Sogema e piazza Garibaldi. Lungo tutto l’itinerario che comprende via Giacomo Leopardi, via Scipione Lapi e via Antonio Labriola fino all’attraversamento di viale Veneto, sarà installata una nuova segnaletica orizzontale e verticale per l’attraversamento pedonale, l’indicazione del centro storico e del parcheggio dell’ex Sogema a servizio dei veicoli, l’identificazione dei passaggi pedonali e dei posti auto presenti lungo la viabilità. I lavori prevedono anche l’abbattimento delle barriere architettoniche, l’allargamento della carreggiata esistente in via Labriola e il suo ripristino insieme a quello dei camminamenti. Il tratto stradale sarà completato con una pigmentazione di color verde per evidenziarne l’utilizzo promiscuo e saranno inseriti percorso tattili a supporto degli utenti che non percepiscono differenze cromatiche. Il progetto prevede anche la sperimentazione nel tratto di via Labriola di una “Zona 10”, un tratto aperto alle auto dove il transito veicolare sarà regolamentato dal limite dei 10km/h, una velocità molto bassa che consentirà l’utilizzo in sicurezza del tratto da parte dei pedoni e ciclisti.
