Il Club Alpino Italiano esprime la sua soddisfazione per lo stop definitivo alla costruzione della pista da bob a Cortina, in occasione dei Giochi Olimpici Invernali Milano – Cortina 2026. “Non realizzare la pista da bob a Cortina, ci sembra una presa di posizione di buon senso che ci consente di guardare con ottimismo al futuro”, ha affermato il Presidente generale Antonio Montani. “Siamo fermamente convinti che per realizzare un evento olimpico veramente sostenibile, il percorso sia ancora lungo e complesso. La nostra associazione continuerà ad impegnarsi in tutte le sedi opportune per portare il proprio contributo a difesa dell’ambiente e del corretto sviluppo della montagna”, continua Montani.
Il Club Alpino Italiano sottolinea inoltre la necessità di monitorare costantemente le infrastrutture legate all’evento olimpico. “La sostenibilità non è solo un obiettivo, ma un imperativo, specialmente per manifestazioni di portata internazionale come le Olimpiadi. Continueremo a vigilare affinché questo criterio sia sempre al centro delle decisioni” ha concluso Mario Vaccarella, Delegato al coordinamento delle attività ambientali del Cai.
