Salvare una vita è spesso questioni di minuti, secondi appena. Nel tempo che intercorre tra la chiamata al numero di emergenza e l’arrivo dei soccorsi, le manovre di rianimazione pre-arrivo possono fare la differenza.
Così è successo nella serata di lunedì scorso, quando alla Centrale operativa del 118 di Arezzo dell’Asl Toscana sud est è arrivata la telefonata per un bambino privo di sensi in piscina. A prendere la chiamata è stata un’operatrice della centrale che ha subito iniziato a dare istruzioni ai familiari sulle manovre rianimatorie da compiere. “In queste situazioni è fondamentale intervenire rapidamente – spiega l’operatrice – Ho chiesto di controllare se il bambino respirasse e di posizionarlo a terra togliendo qualsiasi cosa coprisse volto e torace. Ho detto ai familiari di mettersi in ginocchio, a lato del bimbo e di posizionare una sola mano al centro del torace per iniziare a comprimere, abbassando il torace di almeno cinque centimetri e impartendogli il ritmo contando al telefono”. Poco dopo il piccolo ha iniziato a piangere e ad espellere acqua, liberando le vie aree. Il paziente, trasferito all’ospedale pediatrico Meyer, è stato dimesso. “La professionalità del personale del 118 è centrale per poter risolvere situazioni emergenziali attraverso le istruzioni prearrivo – evidenzia il coordinatore infermieristico, Samuele Pacchi – una telefonata può salvare la vita, per questo è importante mantenere la calma, fornire informazioni quanto più precise possibili alla Centrale operativa e seguire le indicazioni fornite”.“In queste situazioni è necessario chiedere subito aiuto e seguire alla lettera le istruzioni impartite dagli operatori della Centrale del 118 nonostante lo stato di agitazione e paura – spiega il dottor Simone Nocentini – direttore della Centrale operativa 118 dell’Area provinciale Aretina e responsabile di Area Dipartimentale Emergenza territoriale 118 – Le manovre prearrivo sono fondamentali in quelle condizioni in cui a fare la differenza possono essere sufficienti pochissimi minuti. Chiunque può eseguirle, non servono particolari capacità o competenze, basta affidarsi agli operatori e alle operatrici del 118. Ringrazio tutto il personale sanitario dell’emergenza urgenza per le elevate capacità professionali che quotidianamente mettono a servizio della comunità”.
