“Italia K2, racconto di una spedizione straordinaria” è il podcast, che immortala la storica prima ascensione del K2, narrata e raccontata attraverso la voce e le parole del cineoperatore bolognese Mario Fantin. Nel 1954 gli italiani salirono per la prima volta il K2, seconda montagna della Terra (8611 m). I 10 episodi, in uscita a cadenza settimanale, offrono il punto di vista del cine-operatore Fantin, che filmò le immagini della spedizione CAI-CNR da cui fu realizzato il film “Italia K2” di Marcello Baldi. Uno sguardo inedito e poetico, che prende forma e vita dal libro “K2 – Sogno vissuto” (Cai Edizioni 2024). Un diario che dialoga a distanza con altri grandi alpinisti come Kurt Diemberger, Reinhold Messner e Tamara Lunger.

Durante le ricerche nell’archivio di Mario Fantin, conservato dalla nipote Valeria, viene trovato il suo taccuino originale, quello che aveva sul K2, nel quale prendeva appunti e disegnava le inquadrature da realizzare.
Il taccuino e il diario di Fantin ci consentono di seguire la spedizione da un punto di vista unico e originale: quello del cineoperatore che deve raccontare per immagini la grande spedizione in Karakorum del 1954.
