BORDONECCHIA – Dal 5 al 7 settembre, un weekend di celebrazioni ed eventi dedicati all’arrampicata sportiva, organizzato dalla Polisportiva Bardonecchia, in collaborazione con il Club Alpino Italiano, CAI Climbing e il comune di Bardonecchia

 40 anni di storia. SportRoccia40 nasce con l’intento di celebrare lo storico evento nato a Bardonecchia, nel 1985. Per ricordare quella che è stata la prima competizione internazionale di arrampicata al mondo, climber amatoriali e professionisti si ritrovano nelle pareti del comune alpino piemontese, per arrampicare insieme, ma anche discutere del passato, presente e futuro della disciplina.  Organizzato dalla Polisportiva Bardonecchia, in collaborazione con CAI Climbing, Club Alpino Italiano e Comune di Bardonecchia, il weekend di celebrazioni ed eventi dedicati all’arrampicata sportiva, si svolgerà dal 5 al 7 settembre.  Tra parete e approfondimento La giornata di sabato 6 settembre, sarà dedicata all’azione, con la gara amatoriale “Bardo Boulder Contest”, organizzata dalla Polisportiva Bardonecchia. Una competizione su parete artificiale presso la palestra indoor “Cubo” nel palazzetto dello sport di Bardonecchia, con blocchi dal 5 all’8a tracciati da Luca Camanni, Davide Bassotto e Giovanni Giachino. La sera, alle ore 21:00, il Palazzo delle Feste ospiterà “Quarant’anni in parete: dalle origini di Sportroccia alla scena mondiale”, una conferenza organizzata da CAI Climbing, in collaborazione con il Museo Nazionale della Montagna “Duca degli Abruzzi”. L’obiettivo è quello di affrontare la storia dell’arrampicata, dalle origini di SportRoccia alla scena mondiale. Si tratta di un viaggio attraverso la storia e l’evoluzione dell’arrampicata sportiva, dal 1985 ad oggi. In particolare, parteciperanno Giovannino Massaro, appassionato di arrampicata, tra i pionieri dell’ottavo grado (8a) negli anni ‘80, Françoise Lepron, scalatrice e testimone del movimento dell’arrampicata, Renato Pirona, guida, tracciatore e direttore di gara.  Rievocazione e restauro di vie storiche Domenica 7 settembre, è il giorno della presentazione, presso la Parete dei Militi (settore gare, comune di Nevachè), della conclusione dei lavori di restauro di due vie storiche: il “Diedro del Terrore” e la “Gervasutti di Destra”. La Parete dei Militi tornerà a vivere con le salite commemorative su vie storiche di difficoltà dal 6C all’8A, ripercorse anche da atleti del CAI Eagle Team. Un’occasione per rivivere il fascino della prima competizione di arrampicata sportiva. Interverranno storici del movimento e atleti che presero parte a Sportroccia 1985, per condividere testimonianze e memorie di quell’esperienza pionieristica. La mattinata si concluderà con un rinfresco aperto al pubblico, in un momento conviviale di incontro tra generazioni verticali. 

Gli ospiti di SportRoccia40 Un anniversario così speciale non poteva che riunire alcune tra le voci e i volti più significativi della storia dell’arrampicata sportiva. A Bardonecchia, ci saranno Catherine Destivelle, Thierry Renault, Martine Rolland e Giuliana Scaglioni, protagonisti indimenticati di Sportroccia ’85; Françoise Lepron, scalatrice e testimone del movimento; Lothar Mauch e Marco Ballerini, due atleti che hanno segnato una generazione; Renato Pirona, guida, tracciatore e direttore di gara e Marzio Nardi, tra i nomi di spicco dell’arrampicata contemporanea.  “La scelta del Club Alpino Italiano di avvicinarsi alle competizioni di arrampicata nasce dall’osservazione di una realtà ormai consolidata: molti nostri Soci, specie i più giovani, frequentano regolarmente le palestre indoor. Il CAI ha bisogno di loro e loro hanno bisogno del CAI, non solo per imparare le manovre che non conoscono, ma anche per capire la montagna e la tutela ambientale. Si tratta di argomenti che solo le nostre sezioni e le nostre scuole possono insegnare loro”, spiega Roberto Crespi, Presidente di CAI Climbing.  “Bardonecchia accoglie con gioia queste giornate in cui sarà rievocato lo storico appuntamento del 1985. – dice il sindaco di Bardonecchia Chiara Rossetti – Un momento che ha segnato la storia dell’arrampicata sportiva e che ancora è ben vivo nella memoria della nostra cittadina. Da allora il nostro impegno nella valorizzazione e rispetto del territorio è costantemente cresciuto ed anche l’iniziativa, in programma nel prossimo fine settimana, si connota per essere, per quanto più possibile, ad emissioni zero, proponendo l’utilizzo di mezzi di mobilità alternativa per raggiungere le montagne della Valle Stretta.
