Chiusura in grande stile della tre giorni del “Salone”. I migliori cani da tartufo d’Italia a Città di Castello alla gara di cerca della trifola, il prelibato tartufo bianco, in uno scenario “mozzafiato”, i giardini del Cassero all’ingresso della centralissima piazza Gabriotti che si affaccia sulla Cattedrale, la Torre Civica e Palazzo comunale. Grazie anche alla bella giornata di sole hanno risposto all’appello oltre 70 “cavatori” per partecipare alla terza edizione del memorial dedicato ad “Alessandro Ghigi”, figura storica dell’’Associazione Tartufai Altotevere che ha organizzato la gara cani da ricerca e cavatura del tartufo su ring inserita nella 45esima edizione del “Salone del Tartufo Bianco Pregiato” assieme al premio intitolato a “Giovacchino “jimmy” Cecchini”, indimenticato grande tartufaio ed imprenditore: tre categorie in gara, cuccioli 3/6 mesi, libera adulti, riporto (tutte le categorie). Campioni del fiuto, bracchi, bracchi-pointer, lagotti, meticci, cocker spaniel, in questo lembo di terra di confine fra Umbria, Marche, Toscana, Abruzzo, Lazio ed Emilia Romagna, sono di casa, nascono, crescono e diventano autentici maestri della ricerca, indispensabili compagni di viaggio (assieme al vanghino utilizzato per scavare) per gli oltre 1500 “cavatori”, i tartufai, in possesso del regolare tesserino rilasciato dall’Afor, Agenzia Forestale Umbria dopo aver sostenuto le lezioni, corsi ed esame finale e relativo versamento della quota annuale. Anno dopo anno cresce di numero la rappresentanza “rosa”, donne tartufaie che decidono di intraprendere l’attività di tartufaie.Da anni, Città di Castello è ormai di fatto, non solo nei giorni del salone, la capitale indiscussa della “trifola” ma anche dei cani da tartufo che arrivano a sfiorare e superare cifre da capogiro talvolta ben al di sopra i tremila euro tanto è la loro bravura fra boschi e colline a scovare le “pepite d’oro”, il pregiato tartufo bianco che alla borsa attuale dei prezzi al dettaglio, si attesta per sui 2.000 – 4.500 euro per un chilo di “bianco”, a secondo delle pezzature. Oggi, circa 70 esemplari a quattrozampe, con i loro proprietari provenienti da tutto il Centro-Italia, si sono dati appuntamento a Città di Castello per la tappa più importante del circuito nazionale della ricerca del tartufo. Una gara di abilità e fiuto, tanto fiuto. I cani per conquistare il podio finale, devono, nel minor tempo possibile hanno dovuto scovare sei tartufi, trifola di ottima qualità, disseminati a debita distanza l’uno dall’altro in un’area di terreno delimitata. Cronometro alla mano, i cani della zona dell’altotevere hanno fanno registrare tempi a dir poco da guinnes dei primati: anche sotto i quaranta secondi complessivi. Bianca, Ringo, Lea, Chira, Luce, Pallino, Sally, Diana, Zara, Lea, questi alcuni nomi ricorrenti ed altri campioni del fiuto che sono riusciti ad annusare i tartufi anche a distanze di trecento metri e più. Sul podio più alto della categoria “cuccioli”, Marco Ciotti di Tivoli con il suo cane “Bamba”. A seguire, Fabio Palarchi di Grosseto con Sasha nella categoria “gara di riporto” ed infine Liliana Zolli, di Ravenna con “India” nella gara libera. La presenza di cani da tartufo in altotevere, è fra le più alte d’Italia e Citta’ di Castello ne è la capitale. All’anagrafe canina del Servizio Veterinario della Usl Umbria1 risultano infatti iscritti circa 1500 esemplari nel comune di Città di Castello sugli oltre 2500 dell’intero comprensorio altotiberino. Come razza prevalente spiccano i 750 “meticci” seguiti da 444 lagotti romagnoli, 90 springel spaniel, 62 cani da ferma tedesco a pelo corto, 43 cocker spaniel inglese, 28 pointer inglesi, 19 labrador retriever, un bracco italiano e 32 censiti nella categoria “altri”. Un vero e proprio record. Accanto ai giovani “tartufai”, il Presidente dell’associazione (fondata nel 1986, con oltre 700 iscritti) Andrea Canuti affiancato da un consiglio di giovani, ci sono i veterani del “vanghino”, capitanati da Fabio Cecchini, dal segretario Italo Bianchini assieme al fratello Aldo ( 92enne da settanta anni tartufaio ancora in attività) e Angelo Marioli che da sempre spiega l’amore che li lega a questi straordinari animali: “mio zio, tartufaio scomparso a 90 anni – dice ancora commosso – faceva dormire il proprio cane sul divano del salotto buono di casa tanto gli voleva bene”. Un’attività all’aria aperta, un hobby sempre più in voga ed in continua crescita, quello del tartufaio, stando alle statistiche dell’Afor, Agenzia Forestale Umbria, che parlano di 50 nuovi tesserini rilasciati, da inizio anno, tra cui giovani di età compresa 16 – 25 anni ed anche donne. In onore dei cani e della loro bravura la novità di questa edizione del Salone è rappresentata da “Bianca”, il simpatico “lagotto” mascotte della rassegna, originale idea della creatività dell’artista, Carlo Paolo Granci, una scultura in legno che può essere apprezzata anche da ipovedenti e non vedenti. “Il nostro tartufo bianco e gli altri prodotti del bosco non temono confronti – precisano il sindaco, Luca Secondi, l’assessore al Commercio e Turismo del comune, Letizia Guerri ed il Presidente dell’Ente Fiera Salone Bianco Pregiato, Lazzaro Bogliari, che sottolineano anche l’aspetto “legato alla promozione e valorizzazione culturale, artistica e ambientale del comprensorio e dell’Umbria.” “I tartufai e i loro straordinari cani, razze impareggiabili – concludono – sono i veri protagonisti di questo importante settore agro-alimentare che contribuisce ad elevare immagine e promozione del nostro territorio anche attraverso un’attività, quella del tartufaio, propria della nostra storia e delle nostre tradizioni”. Oggi per l’ultimo giorno del Salone, il centro storico è stato invaso ancora una volta da visitatori e turisti “buongustai”, un vero e proprio successo. Anche la sindaca di Perugia, Vittoria Ferdinandi non e’ voluta mancare all’appuntamento con il festival del gusto e delle eccellenze agroalimentari. Accolta dal sindaco, Luca Secondi, ha visitato i padiglioni del Salone assieme ad direttore della manifestazione, Andrea Castellani, sottolineando l’importanza di fare rete fra i comuni anche sul versante della promozione dei territori attraverso eccellenze della natura come il tartufo e gli altri prodotti agroalimentari che la regione può vantare. La trifola di Citta’ di Castello con il suo salone nazionale @biancopregiato è’ rimbalzata con immagini e servizi nei Tg regionali e nazionali. Servizi sulle reti Medasiet e Rai: al Tg5 nell’edizione delle 20 con immagini del salone nell’ambito di un reportage sul “ponte Ognissanti”, Mag ed un Servizio nel Tg di Studio Aperto. Servizi nei tg anche in alcun emittenti rumene e bulgare. Due ampi servizi poi al Tgr Rai Umbria.
