L’intervento è stato realizzato accogliendo prontamente la richiesta della Tiferno Pallacanestro ASD, con l’obiettivo di rendere la struttura idonea a ospitare competizioni di alto livello per questa disciplina che unisce atleti con e senza disabilità nello stesso team. L’occasione inaugurale per il nuovo campo sarà di grande prestigio. Domenica 25 gennaio, Città di Castello ospiterà infatti la seconda giornata del Campionato Nazionale di Baskin – Sezione Umbria. Un appuntamento che trasformerà il palazzetto di via Engel in un centro di sport, integrazione e tifo appassionato. Il programma della giornata. Il fischio d’inizio è previsto per la mattina di domenica con 2 partite di campionato: ore 09,30: Umbertide Baskin – Virtus Bastia Baskin; ore 11 Tiferno Baskin – Trasimeno Baskin. L’amministrazione comunale e Polisport esprimono grande soddisfazione per questo traguardo, che conferma l’impegno della città nel promuovere uno sport senza barriere. “La cittadinanza – dichiara il presidente del Tiferno Pallanestro, Marco Cesaroni – è invitata a partecipare numerosa per sostenere gli atleti e scoprire la bellezza di questa disciplina unica”. Il Baskin (Basket Integrato) è uno sport di squadra inclusivo, nato in Italia, che unisce persone con e senza disabilità (fisiche o cognitive) in campo, adattando il basket tradizionale per valorizzare il contributo di ogni giocatore. Utilizza regole specifiche e canestri a diverse altezze per permettere a tutti, indipendentemente da età, genere o abilità, di giocare insieme, creando spirito di squadra e superando le barriere. Anche il sindaco, Luca Secondi e l’assessore allo sport, Riccardo Carletti e l’assessore alle politiche sociali, Benedetta Calagreti, nel ringraziare gli organizzatori dell’evento, sottolineano l’importanza di questa disciplina sportiva inclusiva e solidale.
