E’ un tema delicato, quello della cura della terza e quarta età, che non ha solo risvolti amministrativi ma, mi verrebbe da dire soprattutto, umani. Fin dal 2017, con l’allora assessore regionale alla sanità, ho affrontato il tema della possibilità di dare alle famiglie di anziani non autosufficienti la possibilità di potersi organizzare insieme e anche in autonomia convinta che l’idea che solo le residenze assistite e gestite non possano essere l’unica risposta possibile”. Così il vicesindaco Lucia Tanti, che questa mattina ha incontrato i familiari degli anziani ospiti della casa famiglia di zona Giotto chiusa qualche giorno fa. “Ribadisco con convinzione quanto già allora scrissi alla Regione: se è ovvio che servono controlli è altrettanto evidente che è inaccettabile che alcune famiglie non possano decidere di curare i loro anziani scegliendo di farli vivere insieme e organizzando il modo con cui prendersi cura di loro dividendo spese e sostanze. E questo dovrebbe valere anche per gli anziani non autosufficienti, ovviamente vigilando sulla loro condizione. Spetta al pubblico controllare che alle persone anziane nulla manchi, ma non è accettabile che si escluda a priori l’auto-organizzazione familiare nella cura anche dei non autosufficienti. Le famiglie sono titolari del diritto di scelta che non si può soffocare. Il nostro sistema deve lavorare su questo punto con un respiro diverso partendo dal principio che il pugno duro non può essere preventivo. La legge in questo caso non ammette strade alternative, esco da questo incontro mortificata sapendo che ho incontrato familiari coscienziosi a cui non stiamo garantendo serenità”, conclude il vicesindaco.
