L’incontro, molto partecipato, è stata l’occasione per fare il punto sullo scenario dei rifiuti in Toscana, le specificità della gestione dei rifiuti nel territorio aretino attraverso il polo tecnologico, e lo sviluppo impiantistico previsto dai recenti progetti di potenziamento che rendono quello di San Zeno uno degli impianti più all’avanguardia in Europa col suo passaggio da impianto di smaltimento a centrale di recupero rifiuti, fino ed essere una centrale da fonti rinnovabili, che sta progettando di recuperare nel futuro bioalcoli e bioidrigeno, che si aggiungeranno ai vantaggi attuali: biometano, energia termica ed energia elettrica. Sono 40 mila i cittadini che beneficiano attualmente della centrale di recupero, saranno 70 mila nel prossimo futuro. “Triplica solo la capacità di generare energia. Questo impianto non è un inceneritore che ‘triplica’, perché nel forno dell’impianto della linea di incenerimento non vengono messi i rifiuti, ma processati gli scarti e tutto quello che proviene dalla raffinazione delle raccolte differenziate- ha spiegato il presidente di Aisa Impianti s.p.a Giacomo Chierici. La differenza tra una centrale a recupero totale R1 e un impianto di smaltimento è sostanziale: quando si affronta un tema cosi complesso bisogna stare molto attenti a inquadrarlo correttamente sul piano tecnico. E’ nostro compito come azienda restituire al territorio ogni forma di energia recuperata, e destinare ai cittadini i vantaggi economici e ambientali derivanti da tutti i possibili potenziamenti dell’impianto, compresa la produzione di biometano”.
