ELENA TESTI fa parte di quella generazione di giornalisti che sta forgiando con prove di fuoco l’andamento delle “cose”. Attraverso i suoi servizi per La7 Elena ha raccontato giorno per giorno, con uno stile cronachistico e diretto, oltre due anni di pandemia, gli ospedali in perenne emergenza, i confinamenti nazionali, seguiti da una guerra alle porte dell’Europa con città assediate e rase al suolo, migliaia di vittime civili, flussi di profughi e venti di carestie che soffiano sempre più potenti.

È una ragione in più per assegnare ad Elena l’edizione 2022 del premio “Tutino Giornalista”: quella esigenza l’abbiamo percepita anche nei suoi servizi, dalle corsie dell’ospedale di Bergamo o da Codogno, fino al fronte dell’Ucraina. ANDREA RICCARDI si è sempre schierato in prima linea, con la Comunità di Sant’Egidio da lui fondata nel 1968, per la difesa di quei valori umani che si rispecchiano nella memoria collettiva e che contribuiscono in modo determinante ad alimentarla. Si è schierato come studioso di storia e docente universitario, come mediatore in diversi conflitti contribuendo al raggiungimento della pace in Paesi come il Mozambico, il Guatemala, la Costa d’Avorio, la Guinea.
In un tempo così difficile come quello che stiamo vivendo, l’Archivio dei diari ha scelto di attribuirgli il Premio Città del diario come riconoscimento al suo impegno costante per la difesa dei valori della pace e della memoria. La sua presenza a Pieve Santo Stefano offre un’importante occasione di incontro e di dialogo. In un suo recente intervento, nell’elencare i numerosi conflitti «dimenticati» che oggi si sommano a quello che infiamma l’Europa orientale, Andrea Riccardi ha ricordato che ciò «non vuol dire ridimensionare il dramma ucraino, ma segnalare come il mondo sia tanto ammalato di guerra» e che per tentare di guarirlo «c’è bisogno di uno sguardo globale».
La parola pace ha avuto alterne fortune nella storia recente. È stata invocata e dimenticata ciclicamente, soprattutto nel corso del Novecento e nel secolo attuale. Oggi che una terribile guerra l’ha riportata sulle nostre bocche, e al centro delle riflessioni comuni, ci sentiamo tutti un po’ colpevoli per averla trascurata, specialmente negli ultimi trent’anni. Come se non ci fossero altre guerre al mondo, come se ragionare sui valori del pacifismo fosse superfluo nel nostro minuscolo spicchio di pianeta apparentemente pacificato. Come se non ci fossero le sentinelle della memoria a ricordarci di non dimenticare.
Il Premio Pieve è ideato e organizzato dall’Archivio dei diari, sostenuto da numerose istituzioni tra cui Regione Toscana, Banca di Anghiari e Stia, Camera di Commercio di Arezzo e Siena, Rai Toscana, Rai Radio3.
