E’ giunto il momento che il Presidente Giani agisca, visto che è rimasto inerme per mesi, a differenza della Presidente dell’Umbria che con determinazione sta portando avanti il raggiungimento di un obiettivo storico per la mobilità di tutto il Centro- Italia. I territori richiedono una capacità operativa di buon governo e non la disarmante inerzia, perché se dovessimo perdere l’occasione dell’Alta velocità e soprattutto di realizzare la fermata nella nostra provincia, la Regione dovrebbe assumersi la responsabilità per l’enorme danno arrecato. Abbiamo a disposizione uno studio aggiornato, presentato di recente nella Sala dei Grandi della Provincia, dove in base ai flussi, il nostro territorio risulta essere quello più funzionale alla localizzazione della stazione Medioetruria per rispondere alle esigenze di spostamento di persone e merci, quindi in rapporto alla soddisfazione di aspetti logistici, economici e sociali. Quando si interviene per la realizzazione di un’opera infrastrutturale di portata storica, l’elemento più significativo che deve prevalere non è l’interesse campanilistico, ma il dato oggettivo affinché il tavolo tecnico, istituito con il protocollo di intesa, e in particolare Rfi, giungano alla soluzione tecnicamente più efficace e realizzabile per costruire una nuova stazione lungo il tracciato della direttissima Roma-Firenze. Questo è un grande progetto di sviluppo che vede coinvolte due Regioni e quattro Province, ed è necessario che le Istituzioni svolgano al meglio la propria parte nel rappresentare tutti i territori senza alcuna eccezione. Inoltre, l’Umbria ha già messo nero su bianco, nel nuovo Piano regionale dei trasporti, l’ipotesi di realizzare ad Orte una stazione gemella alla Medioetruria, denominata “Av Umbro-Laziale”. Per quanto mi riguarda appena il nuovo Governo avrà assunto le sue funzioni, chiederò subito un incontro al Ministro delle Infrastrutture per affrontare il prima possibile la questione dell’Alta velocità, un’opportunità indispensabile per la nostra Provincia. Restare fermi in un momento storico così difficile, non è tollerabile. Chi amministra la nostra Regione deve assumersi, senza ulteriori indugi, la responsabilità del fare perché il tempo è ormai scaduto”
