All’evento, introdotto da Fiorello Primi, presidente dei “Borghi più belli d’Italia” e condotto da Osvaldo Bevilacqua, ambasciatore dell’Associazione, sono intervenuti il Sottosegretario del Ministero della Cultura Vittorio Sgarbi, il Presidente del Consiglio Nazionale ANCI Enzo Bianco, il Direttore dell’APT Basilicata Antonio Nicoletti e Antonio Luna, autore del libro “L’Italia (ri)nasce dai Borghi”.
La guida “The Most Beautiful Borghi of Italy” illustra lo straordinario patrimonio storico, artistico, culturale e ambientale dei borghi, anche attraverso un racconto di storie ed aneddoti che possano interessare un pubblico internazionale. Nel titolo è stato volutamente mantenuto il termine “borghi”, senza traduzione: non c’è infatti un termine equivalente in lingua inglese che rispecchi appieno il significato di “borgo”.
Il 2024 sarà dichiarato dal Maeci “Anno del turismo delle radici” “ed è da questo presupposto – come ha ricordato Roberta Casini, sindaco di Lucignano – che nasce la prima edizione della guida “The Most Beautiful Borghi of Italy”. Il turismo delle radici rappresenta senza dubbio un’importante opportunità da strutturare a da consolidare e su cui vale la pena investire sempre di più. Il nome di Lucignano, presente nella guida, sarà veicolato e diffuso in tutto il mondo, anche attraverso questo nuovo strumento di carattere internazionale, in continuità e rafforzamento con le nostre strategie di promozione del territorio”. Il bacino coinvolto presenta numeri importanti: “Vogliamo invitare anche gli italiani di seconda e terza generazione che risiedono all’estero, si stima siano circa 80 milioni e tra di loro ci sono anche numerosi lucignanesi – continua Casini – figli e nipoti di coloro che emigrarono all’estero in cerca di fortuna a ritornare nei borghi alla scoperta delle loro origini, alla ricerca delle proprie radici. Da noi sono i benvenuti”. “E’ dimostrato – conclude Casini – che la Bellezza che risiede nei Borghi è capace di generare economia, buon lavoro e sviluppo sostenibile se opportunamente tutelata, valorizzata e promossa. Fiorello Primi, Presidente dei Borghi più belli d’Italia, nel rinnovare l’invito al Festival Nazionale dei Borghi che si terrà proprio a Lucignano dall’ 8 a 10 settembre, 2023, ha precisato che “l’associazione da alcuni anni sta perseguendo con determinazione l’obiettivo di far diventare i Borghi, con tutte le loro potenzialità e contraddizioni, uno degli elementi forti di un nuovo modello di sviluppo sostenibile e solidale. Le comunità borghigiane non possono e non debbono essere lasciate sole nell’affrontare le numerose sfide che la modernità impone per arrestare il processo di spopolamento, uno dei mali più gravi per la tenuta sociale del Paese Italia e per la tutela del patrimonio ambientale, paesaggistico, storico-artistico e architettonico.
