Ad animare la serata e raccontarsi sarà il cantautore Mao, cantautore, conduttore televisivo, fondatore e frontman dello storico gruppo dei Mao e La Rivoluzione. Dopo Alfio Antico, Manuela Bollani, Ginger Brew.

Mao, fondatore e frontman dello storico gruppo dei Mao e La Rivoluzione, con il quale ha inciso diversi dischi e con cui è arrivato a Sanremo nel 97 con il brano Romantico.
Ha collaborato con Artisti del calibro di Morgan, Max Gazzè, Delta V, autore di diversi brani dei sopracitati Artisti. Famoso conduttore di fortunate trasmissioni televisive e radiofoniche come Kitchen su MTV o trasmissioni su Radio Deejay e in Rai. “Sono molto contento di andare a trovare le balene e l’amico Luca – dichiara Mao- perché è bello stare con chi condivide lo stesso modo di vivere la musica come fatto sociale. Spero sia il primo di tanti incroci” Dagli anni 90 Mao porta avanti uno show nei locali torinesi, una sorta di fortunato esperimento che è andato per anni in diretta radiofonica in diverse stazioni (radio Flash, radio popolare etc) fino ai primi streaming che continuano tutt’oggi. Il Salotto di Mao un format a cui le stesse Balene si sono ispirate, uno show fatto di Musica, interviste, ospiti, gag e Improvvisazioni a cui negli anni hanno partecipato e sono passati alcuni tra i più grandi nomi dello spettacolo come Luciana Littizzetto, i Subsonica, Samuel, Morgan e tanti tanti altri.Mao è anche fondatore della crew Corto Corto, un gruppo che organizza eventi, produce e distribuisce Artisti e Dischi ed è riferimento nell’area di Torino e del Nord Italia. Particolarità della crew è che partecipano ai progetti in egual misura e con egual possibilità sia i Grandi Nomi che gli Artisti meno noti. Mao metterà in scena un Sanremo delle Balene, essendo nella settimana del festival il gioco sarà un Sanremo presentato da Mao (che canterà alcuni suoi brani) accompagnato dal noto Comico livornese Giovanni Bondi e dall’orchestra, cioè la Resident Band formata dai noti Musicisti Fabio Marchiori, LEANDRO BARTORELLI, Carlo Minuti, Emanuele Bernardeschi e dal Cantautore e fondatore con Giulia Rosa delle Balene, Luca Forni Sientmamò.
Insieme a loro altri Grandi Ospiti in una serata incredibilmente ricca, perché Mao presenterà quattro Cantautori di enorme valore, membri delle Balene e parte degli Artisti che il gruppo promuove, si tratta di Sarà Rados, cantautrice fiorentina più volte finalista di Musicultura e di Chiara White, altra splendida voce fiorentina e il Cantautore Primatae reduce da una fortunata prima produzione discografica e Fabio Balzano un Cantautore swing/folk dai ritmi coinvolgenti e messaggi potenti.
