ITALIA – In occasione di alcuni lavori edili in centro a Fano Marche sono emersi dei resti relativi a un edificio pubblico, di Epoca Romana, collocato in affaccio al foro cittadino. Si tratta di un complesso costituito da almeno 5 ambienti, i cui muri, conservati in alzato per circa 2 metri, hanno lo spessore di 5 piedi romani (1,50 metri) e sono rivestiti in malta di calce e lastre di marmo.
Sono state parzialmente messe in luce anche le relative pavimentazioni, che sono in marmi d’importazione, di colore verde e rosato, probabilmente cipollino verde e pavonazzetto. Tutto il complesso, databile a circa 2000 anni fa, è stato interessato almeno da due ulteriori fasi di vita in epoca medievale, di cui sono state ritrovate alcune tracce: strutture murarie, focolari, frammenti di ceramica invetriata. Fra i materiali recuperati, vi è anche un frammento di iscrizione su marmo che riporta su due righe le lettere V e I e conserva ancora tracce della “rubricatura”, ovvero la colorazione in rosso dei solchi delle lettere incise.
