La nostra città si inserisce nel programma dei tornei che stanno per avere inizio ospitando una passeggiata a cavallo degli atleti in gara che si muoverà tra le strade e le piazze del centro storico. Una valorizzazione e affermazione ulteriore della identificazione che Arezzo ha con il cavallo, suo simbolo ufficiale e suo legame con la Giostra del Saracino.
La passeggiata di questi animali fieri e bellissimi e dei loro cavalieri si terrà proprio nei giorni della Giostra, a rendere ancora più spettacolare una delle settimane più vivaci dell’anno”. Così il sindaco Alessandro Ghinelli ha salutato questa mattina gli organizzatori dei tornei di polo “Kings Polo Master” e “Women’s Polo Master” che dal 16 giugno al 9 luglio si terranno al Villa Sesta Polo Club di Bucine, una manifestazione sportiva internazionale che vedrà affrontarsi 18 squadre da varie nazioni. Gli atleti e i cavalli saranno ospiti della città martedì 13 giugno, protagonisti della sfilata che dalle ore 17.30 alle ore 18.30 si muoverà da via G. Pietri e proseguità in via di San Clemente, via Garibaldi, Piazza San Francesco, via Cavour, Corso Italia, via di Seteria.
“La passeggiata a cavallo in città è un bell’evento collaterale ad una manifestazione sportiva di portata internazionale che attira i migliori cavalieri con il loro staff. Un appuntamento di eccellenza per Arezzo, anche per la sua promozione turistica con benefici per l’immagine della città e per tutta la filiera del turismo aretino”, ha commentato l’assessore allo sport Federico Scapecchi.
“La cultura del polo e la cultura della Giostra del Saracino convivono nella comunità e sono entrambe iniziative fondamentali per diffondere le peculiarità artistiche enogastronomiche ed imprenditoriali di Arezzo nel mondo. Ringraziamo l’Amministrazione comunale per sostenere l’attività di divulgazione di questo antico sport capace di attrarre persone dai cinque continenti nel territorio aretino”, ha detto Eduardo Menendez direttore sportivo VAS Polo Club.
