Secondo Ana María Bejarano, archeologa del Consorzio responsabile degli scavi, il team ha scoperto bagni pubblici conservati nell’area degli scavi, suggerendo che la Casa del Anfiteatro non fosse una tipica domus, ma un complesso pubblico legato agli spettacoli dell’anfiteatro Meritense. Félix Palma, Direttore del Consorzio, ha dichiarato: “Stiamo scavando la continuazione della Casa del Anfiteatro i cui limiti sono sconosciuti per completare la sua cronologia, ma la cosa più importante è che hanno trovato dei bagni fantastici di dimensioni enormi per quella che è una normale casa romana”.
