Luciano Violante, che ricordò “i ragazzi di Salò” e sono passati 8 anni da quando, all’interno del ciclo di incontri “I protagonisti del novecento aretino”, a cura di Luca Berti, si ricordò Oreste Ghinelli “avvocato, uomo politico e letterato”: era per la precisione il 17 marzo 2015 nell’Arezzo ancora governata dal centrosinistra, e nessuno ebbe da eccepire. Per questo sorprende e dispiace leggere le critiche di queste ore al presidente Luca Stella in merito alla commemorazione di Oreste Ghinelli a 100 anni dalla nascita. Oreste Ghinelli è stato un protagonista del novecento aretino, è stato il simbolo della destra in un tempo difficilissimo, è stato per 37 anni consecutivi – dal 1948 all’anno della sua morte nel 1985 – consigliere comunale e ha segnato la vita politica e culturale di questa città. Per la sinistra era l’uomo “dell’altra parte”, ma anche quella parte è storia patria e cittadina e per questo bene ha fatto il presidente Stella a dare spazio a questo momento di ricordo, per altro non solo politico, nell’Aula consiliare che è di tutte le parti, dei vinti e dei vincitori, della destra e della sinistra, di chi aveva ragione e di chi torto perché è nella somma di tutte queste parti che si fa la storia di Arezzo.Non si tratta di riscrivere la storia, ne’ tanto meno di fare revisionismo – che peraltro non mi appartiene – ma si tratta di condividere la vicenda umana e politica di un aretino illustre, di una persona perbene, di un uomo colto, di un avvocato di primo piano, di un politico che per 37 anni ha incarnato e dato voce ad una parte di questa città lasciando una traccia che é passata alla storia. La politica è capire le ragioni degli avversari storicizzando momenti, sapendo comprendere e trovare le motivazioni degli altri e ciò senza cambiare giudizi, senza ribaltare le oggettività ma sapendo andare oltre i propri convincimenti. Del resto questa nazione ha avuto come presidente della Repubblica un uomo politico del PCI che plaudì alla invasione sovietica dell’Ungheria, eppure quando è morto tutti ne abbiamo saputo cogliere la grandezza nonostante in quel momento fosse lui dalla parte del sanguinario totalitarismo comunista e quindi dalla parte sbagliata della storia. Oreste Ghinelli fu un uomo di destra, fu repubblichino, fu poi protagonista della grande traversata della destra italiana verso la sua piena ricomposizione con la storia democratica di questo paese, fu grande avvocato, convinto garantista e raffinato uomo di cultura. La democrazia matura deve saper gestire le diversità e ricomporre le storie proprio ora che le ragioni e i torti di tutti e di ciascuno dovrebbero essere cristallizzati e consegnati alla storia che non ha mai paura di guardarsi allo specchio con verità”.
