Ottanta denunce di smarrimenti, oltre trenta rinvenimenti e circa venti restituzioni. E’ questo il bilancio dell’attività 2023 dell’Ufficio oggetti smarriti gestito dal corpo di Polizia Locale in pieno centro storico all’interno del loggiato Gildoni: un prezioso front-office per i cittadini particolarmente efficace ed apprezzato. Tra le segnalazioni di oggetti ed effetti personali ricorrenti negli anni, le immancabili chiavi di ogni forma, da quelle di abitazioni, garage fino alle costose chiavi “hi-tech” di auto di grossa cilindrata. E poi la rassegna di tessere sanitarie, carte d’identità, telefonini, materiale tecnologico, borse, portafogli, bigiotteria e collane ci sono state alcune inedite denunce di smarrimenti a “quattrozampe” di un “montone”, ovini (capre e pecore) in particolare nel periodo autunnale. Per il comando della polizia locale non è infrequente infatti ricevere segnalazioni dello smarrimento di animali, soprattutto ovini e suini che si allontanano dall’allevamento o dalla residenza dei proprietari oppure sono vittime dell’attacco di lupi. La registrazione presso l’anagrafe animale rende infatti dovuta la comunicazione da parte di chi li custodisce. C’è anche chi, dopo pochi mesi dal fatidico “si” ha denunciato lo smarrimento della fede nuziale fra lo sconcerto e la rassegnazione per poterla ritrovare. Poi belle storie a lieto fine come quella, accaduta proprio a ridosso delle festività natalizie. Un autista di autobus di linea ha trovato per terra in piazza Garibaldi un portafoglio con all’interno documenti e denaro in contante per circa 250 euro e l’ha immediatamente consegnato agli addetti dell’ufficio oggetti smarriti, che grazie alla collaborazione dei colleghi di un comune limitrofo della valtiberina toscana sono riusciti a risalire al legittimo proprietario, un giovane studente, che ha potuto tirare un sospiro di sollievo ed assieme alla propria famiglia ha ringraziato tutti coloro che a vario titolo si erano adoperati per riconsegnarlo, denaro compreso. Spesso l’ufficio (responsabile, Eleonora Alberti, Daniela Ricci, Luca Pernici e Fabio Rellini) viene contattato anche dai comandi della polizia locale di altre città per il rinvenimento di oggetti smarriti da cittadini residenti a Città di Castello, che rientrano in possesso dei propri beni grazie alla collaborazione tra i corpi. Al front-office vengono affidati pure gli oggetti consegnati dai cittadini alle forze dell’ordine locali: il personale custodisce per un anno gli oggetti rinvenuti in attesa che i proprietari ne rivendichino il legittimo possesso. Trascorso questo periodo, chi avesse trovato e consegnato gli oggetti in questione ha diritto a entrarne in possesso dietro apposita richiesta. Altrimenti, tutto il materiale viene trasferito nel deposito comunale, dove resta in custodia a disposizione di chi ne può dimostrare la proprietà. L’ufficio oggetti smarriti è a disposizione dei cittadini nelle mattinate di lunedì, giovedì e sabato, nell’orario di apertura al pubblico 9.00-12.00. L’ufficio può essere contattato anche telefonicamente al numero 075.8529222 o 8529511. “Fra le tante attività importanti e significative che il Corpo di Polizia Locale svolge ogni anno sul territorio comunale c’è anche quella relativa alla gestione dell’ufficio oggetti smarriti, presidio per tutti i cittadini e punto di riferimento per coloro che hanno bisogno di un aiuto concreto immediato” – ha precisato l’assessore Rodolfo Braccalenti. “Grazie a tutto il corpo ed in particolare in questo caso a coloro, che si occupano di gestire al front office questo importante servizio apprezzato dai cittadini”
