Valdarno Jazz, doppio appuntamento a Terranuova Bracciolini con “Metamorfosi” e il Pierre do Sameiro Quartet ; martedi gran finale con OTC Open Orchestra con il sassofonista Daniele Malvisi
Valdarno Jazz, festival che propone concerti di rilievo nei comuni del Valdarno, tra Arezzo e Firenze, presenta un doppio appuntamento da non perdere.
Lunedì 29 luglio in piazza Liberazione a Terranova Bracciolini doppio live. In apertura alle ore 21.30 “Metamorfosi”, primo disco nato dalla collaborazione fra la cantautrice Valeria Mancini in arte Celidea ed il pianista Mattia Parissi, che uscirà prossimamente per la Wide Sound. Metamorfosi parla della nostra parte interiore, descrivendo le passioni e gli istinti che ci rendono persone dinamiche e in continua evoluzione. Il disco si articola in una successione di brani in costante movimento, con due omaggi a Wayne Shorter e Burt Bacharach. A seguire alle ore 22.30 il concerto del Pierre do Sameiro Quartet, formato daPierre do Sameiro, sax tenore e soprano, Simone Basile alla chitarra, Matteo Anellial contrabbasso, Giovanni Paolo Liguorialla batteria. Il racconto di una storia vera, autentica, fatta di musica certo, ma anche di lavoro in fabbrica, di meccanica, di notti “Rabelaisiennes” parigine, di film di Pasolini e di canzoni del grande Ferrat, il tutto in un camion con John Coltrane come colonna sonora, a 150 km/h sulla A89, ”de Paris à Florence”. Un sound che vuole essere accessibile a tutti, e soprattutto a coloro che troppo spesso vengono dimenticati: i lavoratori, la gente comune, coloro ai quali Ferrat ha dedicato la sua canzoni, e che Pasolini mise in scena in “Mamma Roma”. Insomma, un lavoro che rispecchia l’immagine del suo compositore, umana e senza pretese. L’evento è in collaborazione con Music Pool (ore 21.30, ingresso libero).
Chiusura del festival martedi 30 luglio nell’Arena Teatro Garibaldi di Figline e Incisa Valdarno con JOTC Open Orchestra che incontra per l’occasione il sassofonista Daniele Malvisi in “Mo’ Joe – The music of Joe Henderson”. Composta da venti giovanimusicisti jazz, l’orchestra si propone di riscoprireJoeHenderson come uno dei maggioriinterpreti del jazz anni ‘60 e ’70 insieme a Daniele Malvisi, uno dei più significativi interpreti della sua musica. L’ensemble è formato da Francesco Giustini, direzione e arrangiamenti, Selene Zuppardo, voce, Antonello Del Sordo, Cosimo Boni, Pasquale Paterra, Riccardo Catria, trombe, Paolo Acquaviva, Andrea Glockner, Mauro Morini, Daniele Maggi, tromboni, Emanuele Caporali, Roberto Buoncompagni, Benedetto Burchini, Francesco Dondi, Edoardo Bianchi, sassofoni, Santiago Fernandez, pianoforte, Fabio Roveri, chitarra, Nicola Pasquini, contrabbasso, Giovanni Paolo Liguori, batteria. L’esecuzione live di arrangiamenti completamente originali porterà l’ascoltatore ad immergersi in un jazz energetico e dinamico, ma anche denso di scelte armoniche raffinate specchio dell’indole più delicata di Joe Henderson. Un vero e proprio viaggio nella sua musica (ore 21.30, ingresso 3-5 euro).
Nata nel 2020 e composta da giovani talenti del centro Italia e professionisti d’esperienza, la JOTC OPEN ORCHESTRA rappresenta una delle pochissime realtà della scena jazz nazionale a portare avanti un progetto di musica jazz orchestrale. Diretta dal trombettista Francesco Giustini, l’orchestra è mossa dal concetto di “apertura” in ogni sua forma, a partire da repertorio, stile e formazione. Anche l’aprire nuovi viaggi musicali nelle orecchie dell’ascoltare, ne è espressione. Esibendosi più volte live ed in diversi stage, la JOTC OPEN ORCHESTRA ha esplorato e portato in concerto diverse sfumature di jazz: dagli anni d’oro della Count Basie Orchestra, al Jazz Europeo più contemporaneo di Kenny Wheeler. L’orchestra ha inoltre collaborato e condiviso lo stage con musicisti come Fabrizio Bosso, Fulvio Sigurtà, Fabio Petretti, Alessandro Presti, Massimo Morganti.
La kermesse è organizzata da associazione Valdarno Jazz in collaborazione con Regione Toscana, i comuni di San Giovanni Valdarno, Loro Ciuffenna, Terranuova Bracciolini, Figline e Incisa Valdarno, e Associazione Music Pool.
