FOIANO DELLA CHIANA – Dal 14 al 29 settembre 2024 la città di Foiano della Chiana (AR) ospita “Le vite. Giorgio Vasari”, mostra collettiva di ceramica, pittura, pittura su vetro, scultura e scultura con materiali di riciclo, per celebrare i 450 anni dalla morte di Giorgio Vasari (1511-1574).ì L’evento è organizzato dall’associazione culturale Art-Eco,con il patrocinio e la collaborazione del Comune di Foiano della Chiana e della Pro Loco di Foiano della Chiana.
Sabato 14 settembre 2024, alle ore 17, il vernissage alla presenza della autorità. Per l’occasione, in piazza della Collegiata ci sarà una performance del noto pittore e scenografo egiziano Gamal Meleka dal titolo “Musica in colore”. A seguire l’inaugurazione si sposterà nella Galleria Comunale Furio del Furia, dove interverranno gli storici dell’arte Andrea Baffoni e Alberto D’Atanasio, che parleranno dell’importanza di Vasari ancora oggi. L’iniziativa avrà tre sedi espositive, la Galleria Comunale Furio del Furia di via Solferino 9, la Sala Carbonaia di via Solferino 7 e il Museo della Fraternita di Santa Maria di via Ricasoli 78/a. Chiusura della mostra collettiva domenica 29 settembre, alle ore 19, nel Tempio di Santo Stefano alla Vittoria, in località Pozzo della Chiana.
La terra d’Arezzo nel 2024 si veste a festa per celebrare i 450 anni dalla morte di Giorgio Vasari, pittore, architetto e storico dell’arte. Per omaggiare il figlio illustre, sono in programma tante iniziative in città e nelle quattro vallate. L’associazione culturale Art-Eco non poteva rimanere indifferente a un anniversario così importante e così ha coinvolto pittori, scultori e ceramisti dalle varie regioni per organizzare una grande collettiva di arte contemporanea a Foiano della Chiana, borgo tra i più belli e vivi dell’intera provincia aretina. Quella dedicata a Vasari è una mostra diffusa che contempla tre diversi spazi espositivi, dove quasi cento artisti, con i loro diversi linguaggi e tecniche, dialogheranno nel segno del genio cinquecentesco. Il Tempio di Santo Stefano alla Vittoria di Pozzo della Chiana, eretto su progetto di Giorgio Vasari e Bartolomeo Ammannati in ricordo della Battaglia di Scannagallo del 2 agosto 1554, sarà il luogo per chiudere in bellezza la collettiva e ringraziare tutti i partecipanti, brindando nel segno dell’arte di ieri e di oggi. “Qualcuno ha detto che la bellezza salverà il mondo e noi abbiamo il dovere di crederci, specialmente in tempi come questi in cui le guerre in tutto il mondo, anche alle porte d’Europa, creano dolore e distruzione – osserva il sindaco Jacopo Franci. – Ci piace pensare che la chiusura di una iniziativa dedicata all’arte, ospitata in un edificio che ricorda la conclusione di una battaglia e la svolta per la nascita del Granducato di Toscana, possa simboleggiare un’inversione di tendenza, in direzione della pace tra i popoli”. “La collettiva è un’occasione per ricordare il grande personaggio, ma anche un modo per far conoscere Foiano della Chiana in tutta Italia e all’estero – spiega Luca Posani, presidente della Pro Loco. – Accanto all’arte contemporanea, infatti, i visitatori scopriranno le bellezze e la ricchissima storia del borgo toscano, che già dai tempi antichi veniva riconosciuto per le sue mura rosse. Già allora, come adesso, Foiano era il cuore pulsante della Val di Chiana”. “A nome degli altri membri dell’associazione culturale Art-Eco, ci tengo a ringraziare tutti coloro che hanno reso possibile l’evento – conclude il direttore artistico Mariangela Baldi. – Comune e Pro Loco di Foiano della Chiana hanno sposato fin dall’inizio il progetto vasariano e hanno collaborato proficuamente alla sua buona riuscita. Artisti da tutta Italia si ritroveranno per celebrare una grande figura e siamo certi che sarà una mostra indimenticabile”.
Sabato 14 settembre l’apertura della collettiva, con la performance del pittore egiziano Gamal Meleka quasi cento artisti contemporanei da tutta Italia omaggiano il genio aretino del Cinquecento
