La giornalista Cecilia Sala è stata arrestata il 19 dicembre scorso a Teheran, in Iran, mentre si recava in aeroporto per rientrare in Italia. Lo rende noto un comunicato della Farnesina. “Su disposizione del ministro degli Esteri, Antonio Tajani – si legge nella nota – l’ambasciata e il consolato a Teheran stanno seguendo il caso con la massima attenzione sin dal suo inizio.
La giornalista italiana Cecilia Sala è stata arrestata in Iran. A dare la notizia è stato il Ministero degli Affari Esteri. Con una nota la Farnesina ha fatto sapere che la reporter era nel Paese per svolgere servizi giornalistici ed è stata fermata il 19 dicembre scorso dalle autorità di Teheran. Ora si troverebbe in una cella di isolamento nella prigione di Evin, a oggi non sono ancora stati resi noti i motivi dell’arresto. “Su disposizione del ministro Antonio Tajani, l’Ambasciata e il Consolato d’Italia nel Paese stanno seguendo il caso con la massima attenzione sin dal suo inizio”, si legge nella nota. La Farnesina sta lavorando, in coordinamento con la Presidenza del Consiglio, con le autorità iraniane per chiarire la situazione legale di Cecilia Sala e per verificare le condizioni della sua detenzione.
Il ministro degli Esteri, Antonio Tajani, ha spiegato, intervenendo al Tg4, che “non sono ancora chiare le imputazioni” che sono contestate a Cecilia Sala, ma l’obiettivo e la speranza sono quelli di replicare “quello che abbiamo fatto con Alessia Piperno”, riferendosi alla travel blogger, che fu arrestata il 28 settembre 2022 a Teheran e detenuta nello stesso carcere in cui si trova Sala, prima di essere liberata e fare ritorno a Roma il 10 novembre a seguito di trattative diplomatiche. “Noi è dal giorno del fermo che stiamo seguendo la vicenda, la nostra ambasciata a Teheran e il nostro consolato minuto per minuto nessun sono in contatto con il ministero degli Esteri di Teheran. Le condizioni di salute sono però buone e lei spera di poter essere liberata il prima possibile”, ha chiarito Tajani, “ed è quello che sta cercando di fare il ministero degli Esteri e quello che sta facendo la nostra diplomazia, con grande discrezione e con la massima riservatezza. I genitori hanno già avuto la possibilità di parlare due volte” con la figlia e “io ho parlato più volte con il papà e con la mamma della giornalista per aggiornarli di tutto ciò che stiamo facendo e dell’evoluzione della situazione”.
