Storie e immagini di  laboriosità, preghiera e “clausura” in 12 scatti racchiusi nella sesta edizione del calendario del monastero di Santa Veronica Giuliani, “Laus Deo”, delle monache clarisse cappuccine. Foto inedite realizzate dalle stesse nove sorelle con la collaborazione del fotografo Enrico Milanesi  corredate da frasi e pensieri particolari per ogni mese del 2025:

Foto inedite realizzate dalle stesse nove sorelle del monastero con la collaborazione del fotografo Enrico Milanesi  corredate da frasi e pensieri particolari per ogni mese del 2025. Foto che sono in alcuni casi vere e proprie opere d’arte, immagini catturate nel silenzio del monastero da una stagione all’altra, di giorno e di notte come quella che ritrae una tartaruga che procede lenta su un vialetto accanto all’orto dove sullo sfondo si scorge l’immagine di una sorella che cammina e prega. Una immagine simbolo che racchiude tutto il senso della vita lì dentro e fuori: la lentezza e meditazione  come virtù. Il nuovo anno sarà ancora scandito da “Laus Deo” (due parole scritte ripetutamente dalla Santa a conclusione di lettere e delle pagine del suo diario),  12 mesi, 12 fotografie, 12 frasi della Santa da leggere e meditare. Una iniziativa editoriale unica nel suo genere, che si ripete con successo negli anni, ideata e promossa dall’associazione “Le Rose di Gerico (impegnata nell’accoglienza dei pellegrini che giungono a Città di Castello per visitare i luoghi di Santa Veronica) dal desiderio di far entrare nelle case e nei luoghi di lavoro la conoscenza della Santa, degli spazi più intimi del Monastero e dei momenti di vita comunitaria delle suore. “Il tema che abbiamo scelto quest’anno si riallaccia al Cantico delle Creature di San Francesco che nel 2025 compirà 800 anni – ha precisato la Badessa, Suor Chiara. Ogni mese troverete preghiere e laudi tratte dal Diario di Santa Veronica, insieme ad esse le foto – scattate interamente da noi – vi faranno entrare nel nostro piccolo creato, reso partecipe della nostra offerta e preghiera quotidiana. Ringraziamo Enrico Milanesi per i preziosi consigli e la competente “guida fotografica”, Silvio Ficarra per l’impostazione grafica e la cura attenta dei dettagli, Simona Ciarabelli insieme alla legatoria CARTOEDIT e alla tipografia PETRUZZI per il dono della stampa: senza di loro non potremmo far arrivare nelle vostre case un pezzo del nostro monastero”, ha concluso suor Chiara. L’assessore alla Cultura, Michela Botteghi si è congratulata con coloro che cinque anni fa hanno ideato questa straordinaria iniziativa editoriale, l’associazione Le Rose di Gerico, le suore del Monastero, i fotografi, la casa editrice e la tipografia che hanno realizzato una vera e propria opera di ricostruzione storica di uno dei luoghi simbolo della città caro ai tifernati che rappresenta un’opportunità importante sotto il profilo turistico e promozionale. Un progetto– ha sottolineato Botteghi – che rende ancora più significativo questo momento di fine anno diventato un vero e proprio evento non solo a livello regionale ma nazionale ed internazionale vista la notorietà e venerazione della Santa e di coloro che nel Monastero ne tramandano la regola da secoli con grande impegno e altruismo”. Monache Clarisse Cappuccine (Monastero “S. Veronica”)  Via XI Settembre, 21 Città di Castello
 Il monastero è stato fondato nel 1643 da Mons. Giovanni Maria Cuccioli. Le prime due madri provenivano dal Monastero delle cappuccine di Perugia.
Le monache sono di vita interamente contemplativa e seguono la regola di santa Chiara d’Assisi, secondo la riforma intrapresa dalla venerabile Lorenza Longo nel 1535. Qui visse santa Veronica Giuliani, grande mistica, che dal 1677 al 1727 si offrì per la gloria di Dio e per la salvezza dei fratelli.
Nel secolo scorso il monastero è stato scelto come sede della nascente Federazione delle cappuccine e come centro formativo della vita cappuccina. L’11 marzo 1955, infatti, nasceva la prima Federazione centro-sud-isole e la sua prima presidente fu sr. Maria Francesca Venturini. In quegli anni il monastero fu la sede del noviziato comune e quindi si resero necessari i lavori di ampliamento e di ristrutturazione per accogliere le novizie degli altri monasteri. Le sorelle oltre a un’intensa vita di preghiera, si dedicano alla preparazione delle ostie per la diocesi e accolgono i numerosi pellegrini che desiderano visitare il piccolo museo che custodisce i ricordi della Santa Veronica e della beata Flórida Cèvoli.
