Giovedì 30 e venerdì 31 gennaio al Teatro Petrarca di Arezzo (via Guido Monaco 12) Rocco Papaleo sarà protagonista de “L’ispettore generale” di Nikolaj Gogol, satira del potere tra le più divertenti mai scritte, considerata tra i capolavori dello scrittore russo. Datata 1836 ma sempre tremendamente attuale, questa irresistibile commedia che punta il dito contro la piccolezza di chi si ritiene intoccabile torna sul palcoscenico con la regia di Leo Muscato per una produzione Teatro Stabile Di Bolzano/Teatro Stabile Di Torino – Teatro Nazionale/Tsv – Teatro Nazionale. La trama si basa sul più classico degli equivoci: Chlestakov (Daniele Marmi) è un frivolo viaggiatore di passaggio in un remoto paesino che viene scambiato per un alto funzionario dello Stato spedito dallo zar ad indagare sulla condotta dei funzionari cittadini. Il malinteso scatena conseguenze nefaste per i “notabili” del villaggio – primo tra tutti per il Podestà (Papaleo) – che si troveranno a vivere il giorno più lungo e tragico della propria esistenza. L’iniziativa è nell’ambito del cartellone nato dalla sinergia tra Fondazione Toscana Spettacolo onlus, Fondazione Guido d’Arezzo e Comune di Arezzo
“L’ispettore generale” è un’espressione emblematica del teatro gogoliano e del suo tentativo di denunciare, attraverso riso e comicità, la burocrazia corrotta della Russia zarista e l’ingiustizia e il sopruso che dominano l’esistenza. Corrotti, approfittatori, affaristi, i personaggi sono presi al laccio dei loro stessi inganni, ma per Gogol non è l’uomo a essere malvagio, è la società che lo rende tale. Così non solo gli abitanti del villaggio cercano di nascondere le magagne della pubblica amministrazione e far credere che tutto funzioni alla perfezione per evitare che vengano a galla inefficienza e disonestà, ma anche lo squattrinato bellimbusto Chlestakov, omaggiato da tutti e allettato da offerte di denaro sempre più sfacciate, sfrutta più che può la situazione e si dilegua giusto prima che si scopra il malinteso e venga annunciato l’arrivo del vero ispettore.
