In una grotta, le persone che hanno trascorso la vita guardando di spalle la luce proveniente dall’esterno, vedono solo le ombre degli animali, delle persone e degli oggetti davanti a loro.Queste ombre sono l’unica realtà per queste persone che non hanno mai visto la loro vera forma. Un giorno, una delle persone che vivevano nella grotta viene improvvisamente liberata. Incontra il mondo fuori dalla grotta. Gli occhi di questa persona, che ora conoscono la luce, cioè la verità, sperimentano quasi la cecità.
Col tempo, inizia a rendersi conto che le ombre che fino ad ora pensava fossero reali non lo sono e sono solo oscuri riflessi della verità.Realizzando la verità della vita, questa persona ritorna nella grotta e cerca di spiegare ad altre persone che le ombre sono false e la vera verità è fuori.Tuttavia, queste persone, che non hanno mai visto l’esterno, non riescono a comprendere ciò che viene detto e protestano con rabbia…Platone voleva esemplificare l’incapacità dei filosofi di far comprendere qualcosa al pubblico nell’allegoria della caverna, cioè in questa analogia.Questa metafora è ancora valida nel mondo e nell’ordine di oggi.Perché le persone accettano ciò che possono capire e non accettano ciò che viene detto al di là della loro comprensione.Ecco perché coloro che dicono la verità vengono in qualche modo repressi nella società.È inquietante vedere la verità nella luce e ascoltare la verità. Ecco perché la mente sceglie l’oscurità e la schiavitù. L’ignoranza è beatitudine. Ci vuole coraggio per affrontare la verità ed essere liberi.Auguro a tutti di avere il coraggio di uscire un giorno dalla grotta.
