Prosegue il progetto Il Seme del Bene Comune Satish Kumar presenta “Radical Love” a Firenze Martedì 22 aprile, ore 18, nel Cenacolo di Santa Croce Racconta un amore radicale per il Creato come quello di Francesco d’Assisi. È Satish Kumar, attivista per l’ambiente e per la pace, il protagonista dell’incontro e che si terrà martedì 22 aprile, alle 18, nel Cenacolo di Santa Croce, in esclusiva per il pubblico italiano.
Si tratta di un appuntamento legato al progetto pluriennale Il Seme del Bene Comune che vede la collaborazione dell’Opera di Santa Croce, della Comunità dei Frati Minori Conventuali, di Aboca, e di Fondazione Progetto Valtiberina e si pone l’obiettivo di condividere i valori culturali e spirituali che caratterizzano l’identità del complesso monumentale.
Nel Cenacolo di Santa Croce, in occasione del lancio del suo libro Radical Love, pubblicato daAboca Edizioni, l’autore racconterà la sua esperienza di vita e il suo pensiero. A dialogare con lui, moderati da Giovanna Zucconi, saranno Massimo Mercati, AD di Aboca, e Irene Sanesi, Presidente dell’Opera di Santa Croce. Un’iniziativa che si collega decisamente al messaggio di Francesco d’Assisi e all’ottavo centenario del Cantico delle Creature. Maestro del dialogo, infatti, Kumar è divenuto famoso per la sua epica marcia compiuta negli anni ’60, dall’Asia alle capitali nucleari di Mosca, Parigi, Londra e Washington: ovunque andasse, scopriva che gli esseri umani erano capaci di un amore che poteva superare l’odio e le divisioni. Il progetto Il seme del Bene Comune è partito, nella primavera del 2024, con la creazione de L’orto di Francesco, come luogo simbolo, antico e attualissimo, del rispetto del pianeta, di tutela della biodiversità e di un nuovo rapporto tra uomo e ambiente. È uno spazio di bellezza e spiritualità, esattamente come lo aveva pensato il Santo di Assisi. L’Orto, visitabile nell’orario di apertura del complesso monumentale, è coltivato con varie specie vegetali, erbe aromatiche e piante medicinali e segna idealmente il punto di partenza dei Cammini francescani.

L’autore Satish Kumar è un ex-monaco giainista e, da oltre cinquant’anni, un attivista per l’ambiente e la pace.
