Da sabato 31 maggio a lunedì 2 giugno nei palasport della vallata (Anghiari, Città di Castello, Pieve Santo Stefano e Sansepolcro) si terrà la XV edizione del “Memorial Barbagli”, manifestazione intitolata all’indimenticato professore che ha fatto la storia della pratica sportiva e del basket sul territorio. Un autentico evento che porterà in zona ben 64 squadre in rappresentanza di 11 regioni italiane, con oltre 1000 atleti presenti nelle nove categorie agonistiche, di cui due femminili.
Si calcola che saranno circa 1400 le persone – fra team, parenti e amici al seguito – che soggiorneranno in Valtiberina durante i giorni della rassegna, e questo dato fa capire come la manifestazione, oltre che sportiva, assuma connotati di autentica promozione turistica per la vallata. Il “Memorial Barbagli” è ormai appuntamento di punta del basket giovanile a livello nazionale e si è conquistato la sua credibilità grazie alla perfetta organizzazione curata dalla Dukes Basket.
