Nel prosieguo delle iniziative promosse in occasione della mostra “Metallica – Scultura in Italia 1947-2025” presso gli ambienti di Palazzo Vitelli a Sant’Egidio a Città di Castello, mercoledì 18 giugno 2025 alle ore 17,30 si terrà un incontro con i Maestro Emilio Isgrò che interverrà sul tema “Nel segno della scultura”, a cura di Bruno Corà. Isgrò è artista, poeta, romanziere, drammaturgo, nonché autore indiscusso della “Cancellatura” – una delle innovazioni linguistiche più originali introdotte nella scena artistica nei primi anni Sessanta del XX secolo, ma che ancora oggi mantiene una vivacità e un’estensione creatrice rilevante tanto da presentarsi come filosofia alternativa alla visione del mondo, esprimendo più cose di quanto non dica. Della “Cancellatura” l’artista ha dichiarato: «Alle origini, probabilmente, essa non fu che un gesto (…) in seguito essa mi si è di fatto trasformata tra le mani, anno per anno, minuto per minuto, piegandosi meglio di quanto volessi o sperassi al mio desiderio di artista». Nel tempo infatti quel gesto si è applicato dalle righe di testo di quotidiani ai libri, alle carte geografiche, ai telex, al cinema, agli spartiti musicai, producendo poesia visiva, proposizioni di arte concettuale, declinandosi in installazioni, giungendo infine a risultati pittorici e plastici. Il “cancellare” per Isgrò è un gesto dialettico tra distruzione e ricostruzione. Le parole e le immagini non sono mai oltraggiate dalla “cancellatura” ma, attraverso questa, restituiscono nuova linfa a un significante portatore di più significati: l’essenza primaria di ogni opera d’arte.
