“L’incontro è ovviamente aperto al pubblico – sottolinea Menchetti – e dopo l’intervento del relatore, la dottoressa in scienze faunistiche Caterina Blasi, avrà luogo il dibattito. Stiamo portando avanti un percorso di discussione su vari temi, anche scomodi, per promuovere un sano e costruttivo dibattito pubblico: verde urbano, Ogm, confitto russo-ucraino, percorsi naturalistici, la nuova lista per le prossime amministrative. Adesso è il momento di questo animale, nell’occhio del ciclone da tempo e sul quale si è espresso recentemente anche il Parlamento Europeo che ha approvato il declassamento del suo status da ‘strettamente protetto’ a ‘protetto’. Stanno dunque prevalendo interessi poco compatibili con la conservazione della specie e con l’equilibrio ambientale. Speriamo vinca il buonsenso e non la crudeltà degli abbattimenti”.
