La bella storia di Veronica Fiori, 18 anni, promettente ginnasta tifernate che dopo aver fatto incetta di medaglie agli European Championships Gymnastics Dsigo di Istanbul, in Turchia, ha trovato il tempo per il meritato diploma di maturità continuando a prestare servizio civile e lavorare come collaboratrice in una piadineria della città. Veronica è considerata un esempio. I suoi genitori, Christian Fiori e Sara Gabrielli, appassionati di sport, l’hanno accompagnata in Turchia, a testimonianza del forte supporto familiare. Veronica pratica sport da quando ha otto anni, in particolare la ginnastica artistica, la sua grande passione, ed è la punta di diamante dell’Asd Centro Judo Ginnastica Tifernate, un’istituzione da oltre 45 anni fondata dal professor Augusto Mariotti e dalla moglie, Caterina Polverini e dalla figlia Angelica Mariotti, componente tecnico della delegazione azzurra che ha partecipato alla trasferta in Turchia. Veronica si allena diverse volte la settimana con tanto impegno e passione e i risultati non tardano ad arrivare. “L’amministrazione comunale a Veronica Fiori, con gratitudine e orgoglio per i profondi valori che trasmette con il suo esempio che incarna attraverso la instancabile dedizione allo sport”, sono queste le motivazioni impresse in una targa che è stata consegnata dal sindaco Luca Secondi e dall’assessore allo Sport, Riccardo Carletti, questa mattina nel corso di una toccante e sentita cerimonia alla presenza della sua allenatrice, Angelica Mariotti, anch’essa premiata per il suo impegno e competenza nel portare avanti progetti sportivi e sociali di grande importanza. Tecnico della società Asd Centro Judo Ginnastica Tifernate, tecnico Federale e Giudice Nazionale della Federazione Ginnastica d’Italia, è da 4 anni Tecnico Federale della Nazionale Italiana di ginnastica artistica femminile Fisdir (federazione italiana sport disabili intellettivi relazionali). Nel 2023 ha preso parte al Campionato del Mondo in Sud Africa, nel 2024 ha preso parte alla spedizione per i Trisome Games ad Antalya, e nel 2025 al Campionato d’Europa ad Istanbul. Passione nata, cresciuta e sviluppata all’interno dell’asd CJGT, che è sempre stata un’associazione sportiva ammiraglia del territorio dal 1978, che ha un ampio ventaglio di scelta. Il sindaco Luca Secondi e l’assessore allo sport, Riccardo Carletti, hanno espresso il loro apprezzamento per la partecipazione delle due concittadine all’importante evento internazionale. Si è sottolineata la bravura, la dedizione e la costanza di Veronica, unita alla professionalità di Angelica Mariotti, sua storica allenatrice.
