Arezzo torna a essere protagonista con la terza edizione di Opera Seme Festival: due settimane dedicate all’opera, alla musica vocale e alla grande tradizione del belcanto. Dal 15 al 26 luglio la città ospiterà spettacoli, concerti e performance in diverse location, con la direzione artistica di Spazio Seme Centro Internazionale, in collaborazione con OIDA Orchestra Instabile di Arezzo, Matthew Schloneger (East Texas A&M University School of Music), il Comune di Arezzo, la Fondazione Guido d’Arezzo, Associazione Music e Festival Valenzano Symphony.musica, teatro e danza tra tradizione e nuove prospettive
Quest’anno il festival si arricchisce di una sezione introduttiva: “Aspettando il Festival – Opera Pop”, in programma dal 15 al 20 luglio, una settimana di concerti, spettacoli teatrali e performance di danza dal taglio divulgativo e contemporaneo, pensati per coinvolgere un pubblico ampio e intergenerazionale. Fin dalla sua nascita, infatti Opera Seme Festival ha avuto l’obiettivo di rendere l’opera accessibile a tutti, con eventi gratuiti o a basso costo e particolare attenzione ai giovani. Un modo per riportare l’opera al suo ruolo di patrimonio vivo, condiviso e popolare. Ad aprire la programmazione sarà martedì 15 luglio, alla CaMu – Scuola di Musica di Arezzo, il Recital a ingresso libero: un concerto che vedrà protagonisti cantanti e pianisti internazionali insieme ai docenti di Opera Seme International Voice Program. Tra questi: Matthew Schloneger, Blythe Gaissert (International Opera Singer), Alison Trainer (Boston University), Tracelin Gesteland (University of South Dakota), Gianni Bruschi con al pianoforte Lorenzo Magi, Paula Gelpi (Chicago Opera Theatre), Djordje Nesic (Manhattan School of Music) e Santiago Fernandez.
Mercoledì 16 luglio, in Piazza Grande, seguirà il concerto Arie d’opera per pianoforte e voce, anch’esso a ingresso libero, con la partecipazione di tutti i giovani cantanti di Opera Seme, che si esibiranno anche in brani corali tratti da celebri musical.
Tra gli appuntamenti più originali del programma di anteprima, venerdì 18 luglio alla CaMu andrà in scena Puccini Cabaret, uno spettacolo di letture dedicato alla figura del compositore, con Francesco Botti e Caterina Cidda Maldesi. L’ingresso è a pagamento (10 euro, gratuito per under 18). Sabato 19 luglio, sempre alla CaMu, sarà la volta di Opera on Contact, uno spettacolo di danza che unisce la sonorità lirica alla contact improvisation, con Priscilla Pizziol e Edoardo Sgambato. Anche in questo caso il biglietto è di 10 euro (gratuito per under 18). Entrambi gli spettacoli saranno preceduti da una breve introduzione con alcune scene d’opera tratte da La clemenza di Tito, dramma di Pietro Metastasio, e Le nozze di Figaro di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, interpretate da alcuni dei cantanti di Opera Seme.
A chiudere il percorso preparatorio sarà, domenica 20 luglio, sempre alla CaMu, il concerto Poemi in musica – Omaggio a Ravel, con Elvira Bekova e Leonora Baldelli. Biglietto 10 euro, gratuito per under 18.
Il festival vero e proprio prenderà il via lunedì 21 luglio con una serata al Chiostro del Comune di Arezzo dedicata a due opere: Mese Mariano di Umberto Giordano e L’impresario in angustie di Domenico Cimarosa, entrambe a ingresso libero. L’impresario in angustie sarà replicato mercoledì 23 luglio nella suggestiva cornice del Castello di Valenzano, grazie alla collaborazione con il Festival Valenzano Symphony. Anche in questo caso l’ingresso sarà gratuito. Giovedì 24 e venerdì 25 luglio, ancora al Chiostro del Comune, andrà in scena Alcina di Georg Friedrich Händel, sempre con accesso libero per il pubblico. Il festival si concluderà sabato 26 luglio al Teatro Petrarca con Jazz on Broadway, un viaggio attraverso la storia del musical americano interpretato dai giovani cantanti di Opera Seme International Voice Program, diretti da Ana Flavia Zuim e accompagnati dall’OIDA Orchestra Instabile di Arezzo. Gli eventi si svolgeranno in luoghi diversi della città e del territorio: le sale della CaMu – Scuola di Musica, il Chiostro del Comune, Piazza Grande, il Teatro Petrarca e il Castello di Valenzano. Un modo per valorizzare spazi con vocazioni differenti, restituendoli alla comunità anche attraverso la musica.
In questa terza edizione Arezzo accoglie 27 cantanti americani e italiani, selezionati per partecipare alla residenza intensiva dell’Opera Seme International Voice Program: 22 studenti provenienti da prestigiose università statunitensi e, per la prima volta, 5 giovani italiani scelti tramite audizioni nazionali. Durante il mese di permanenza ad Arezzo i partecipanti sono coinvolti in un percorso intensivo che unisce studio, pratica artistica e crescita personale. Oltre agli spettacoli in cui saranno protagonisti, il programma prevede masterclass, lezioni di lingua, vocal coaching, workshop e produzioni originali, in un contesto di scambio culturale e confronto diretto con artisti e docenti di rilievo internazionale. “Arezzo si conferma palcoscenico della grande musica con la terza edizione di Opera Seme Festival, un appuntamento che unisce la bellezza dell’opera lirica all’energia dei giovani talenti internazionali.
