Il Polittico di Niccolò di Segna in un appuntamento alla Fondazione Casa di Piero |

SANSEPOLCRO – Un incontro pubblico sarà dedicato al restauro del Polittico di Niccolò di Segna, una delle opere più preziose conservate nella Concattedrale di Sansepolcro. L’artista, allievo di Segna di Buonaventura, muove i suoi primi passi guardando alla lezione di Duccio da Buoninsegna, per poi avvicinarsi ai modi eleganti di Ugolino di Nerio e Simone Martini. Nel tempo sviluppa così un linguaggio personale, impreziosito dal vigore formale ereditato da Pietro Lorenzetti.

Al centro dell’attenzione figura il Cristo risorto del pannello principale: un’immagine che lo stesso Piero della Francesca ebbe modo di osservare e che rappresenta un precedente di grande rilievo per uno dei temi iconografici che l’artista di Borgo Sansepolcro elaborerà in seguito. L’iniziativa è promossa dalla Fondazione Piero della Francesca, che riconosce nel polittico un nodo storico e iconografico di rilievo e che, coerentemente con la propria missione, intende favorire studi e ricerche dedicate. L’appuntamento è fissato per mercoledì 26 novembre alle ore 17:30, presso la Casa di Piero della Francesca a Sansepolcro. Nel corso dell’incontro saranno presentate le prime risultanze del restauro della parte centrale del polittico, attualmente interessata da un intervento particolarmente significativo. Interverranno Carlo Sisi (Fondazione CR Firenze), Ilaria Pennati (Storico dell’Arte, SABAP Siena–Grosseto–Arezzo) e Marzia Benini (Restauratrice, R.I.C.E.R.C.A.), che offriranno un approfondimento su storia, tecniche esecutive e stato di conservazione dell’opera. L’iniziativa intende inoltre coinvolgere la comunità, rafforzando la consapevolezza che il Polittico rappresenta un patrimonio condiviso, parte essenziale della storia e dell’identità culturale del territorio. Un momento di partecipazione e crescita, dedicato a un capolavoro cardine della nostra tradizione artistica.
