AREZZO – Venerdì 18 ottobre alle ore 17.45, la Sala soci Centro*Arezzo Coop.fi di viale Amendola, ad Arezzo, la presentazione del libro di Adriano Chini, che racconta il percorso dell’indimenticato leader del Partito Comunista Italiano, a 40 anni dalla scomparsa. ospita la presentazione di “Il mondo di Berlinguer 1972-1984” (Editrice Genius Loci) di Adriano Chini.
L’iniziativa promossa da Unicoop Firenze sezione Soci Arezzo, è inserita nel calendario di “Pomeriggi in BiblioCoop”, incontri dedicati all’editoria toscana. L’evento, a ingresso libero e gratuito fino a esaurimento posti, è dedicato ai quarant’anni dalla morte di Enrico Berlinguer.
Il libro di Adriano Chini ripercorre il percorso politico del leader del Partito Comunista Italiano dal 1972 al 1984, che coincidono anche con gli ultimi dodici anni della sua vita. Attraverso un percorso cronologico l’autore ricostruisce le vicende politiche nazionali e internazionali che hanno caratterizzato quell’epoca controversa, mettendo a fuoco alcuni passaggi cruciali come il colpo di stato di Pinochet in Cile, il dilagare del terrorismo e della strategia della tensione, passati alla storia come gli “anni di piombo”, la prospettiva di un compromesso storico definitivamente tramontata con il rapimento e l’omicidio di Aldo Moro. Durante la presentazione verranno proiettate immagini legate a Enrico Berlinguer e al complesso periodo in cui egli svolse la sua attività di segretario del PCI, ergendosi a figura tra le più importanti e iconiche della Prima Repubblica.
L’AUTORE Adriano Chini nasce a Vicchio di Mugello (FI) nel 1950 e si trasferisce a Campi Bisenzio (FI) all’età di due anni. È segretario della sezione del PCI Lanciotto Ballerini dal 1976 al 1979 e subito dopo segretario comunale del partito fino al 1985 e poi nuovamente dal 1986 al 1989. Dal 1990 al 2004 è sindaco di Campi Bisenzio e dal 2005 al 2007 consigliere regionale della Toscana. Dopo le vicende giudiziario-amministrative della primavera del 2007 che coinvolsero il Comune di Campi Bisenzio, e che concorsero all’interruzione anticipata della legislatura, il gruppo dirigente fiorentino dei DS gli chiese di rendersi disponibile a una nuova candidatura a sindaco. Per spirito di servizio si dimise dal Consiglio regionale accettando di ricandidarsi a primo cittadino della sua città. Nel 2008 fu rieletto di nuovo sindaco, carica che ha ricoperto fino alla fine della legislatura nel 2013.
