Disponibili visite gratuite per la prevenzione del glaucoma: ecco i requisiti per accedere
Dal 10 al 15 marzo ricorre la Settimana Mondiale del Glaucoma, malattia che colpisce circa il 2% della popolazione e che, se non diagnosticata e trattata in tempo, può portare alla cecità. Asl Toscana Sud Est aderisce all’iniziativa mettendo a disposizione delle persone interessate, e residenti nell’ambito territoriale dell’azienda, la possibilità di sottoporsi ad una visita oculistica mirata alla prevenzione del glaucoma nelle tre province di Arezzo, Siena e Grosseto
Le prenotazioni per visite da effettuare nella Settimana del Glaucoma, fino ad esaurimento dei posti disponibili, saranno attive da sabato 8 marzo chiamando il call center al numero 0577 767676 (sia da numero fisso che da cellulare) che provvederà a fissare l’appuntamento per gli utenti. Questi i requisiti per accedere: età superiore ai 40 anni di età, non essere in terapia per il glaucoma, non aver fatto visite oculistiche negli ultimi 3 anni. La Settimana Mondiale del Glaucoma è l’evento annuale di IAPB Italia Onlus in collaborazione con l’Unione Italiana dei Ciechi e degli Ipovedenti e ha lo scopo di richiamare l’attenzione sull’importanza del bene prezioso della vista e sulla necessità di tutelarlo e prendersene cura in ogni fase della vita. «Come Azienda Sanitaria sappiamo bene quanto sia importante la prevenzione ed è per questo che, anche quest’anno, abbiamo accolto la richiesta di collaborare con Unione Italiana Ciechi e IAPB – dichiara il dr. Andrea Romani direttore Dipartimento Testa collo e organi di senso Asl Toscana Sud Est -. Fare prevenzione significa evitare di perdere la vista e tutelare il benessere delle persone ottimizzando le risorse. Mettere a disposizione degli utenti della Asl Toscana Sud Est la possibilità di effettuare una visita oculistica è importante sia sotto il profilo clinico che per la prevenzione di malattie invalidanti come il glaucoma. In base ai dati statistici abbiamo deciso di coinvolgere i soggetti con più di 40 anni che non hanno già la malattia diagnosticata e che non si sono sottoposti a visita oculistica negli ultimi tre anni».
